I'm after another estate car after I've sold my 2 seater z,that to doesn't get used,might give grolls a call

Thanks for all your input. Grolls look to have a truly magnificent car, no doubt, but it does not seem that original (2,8 was never original in a 260, I guess) to me (which is what I'm looking for).

Also thanks on the input on 2+2. I'm in doubt which is why I probably would need the winter to think.I buy it both as a driveable car but also as an investment car. We won't be driving trips above 2 hours in the car anyway, as my son doesn't handle longer trips.

But if the car could just maintain its value and maybe ad the inflation to it, that would be fine by me.

Most important is still the condition of the car (100% no rust and very good condition) and the originality (which I've found important for maintaining its value).

I would probably also prefer to buy a car from a trusted member. I don't have the time to travel Europe around to hope for a car being as described, and importing from the US is even trickier, as I don't have a network there to inspect the car for me.

The 240z by the Swedish guy didn't look expensive. Is there a Facebook group where most cars are being advertized?

Some markets had the 280z, ie 2.8 engine. I don't think that was ever an official import in to the UK, happy to be corrected.. Most either use the engine out of the 280ZX or bore/stroke the 2.6 engine to what ever they require. Not going to quote engine types hence to keep it basic for easy understanding.

A hard task to find a 100% rust free car, but they are out there.

Only one market had the 280Z - the North American.

A very hard task because those that are out there in that state are most often NOT for sale as their restoration cost was all out of proportion to their resale value - those cars (yours excepted now...and no offence Paul) are done for love and therefore kept !

But thanks for the heads-up grolls. I'll be happy to hear from people with cars like yours (just LHD :). I simply hate rust.

I dunno - why would Kenneth in Denmark want a cheapo LHD 2+2...........?

Or maybe they're the next Z to be ringed as RHDs, being so rare on Britain's roads as they are -certainly rarer than 240Zs....!

Not quite as rare as Violets, SSSs and 120A coupés of course.
