Bucket seats in a 260Z

Hey guys.

I'd really like to install the spare set of pole positions I have in the Datsun. I've done some research and I've found some rails for 240Z but not the later cars.

I believe the 260 on had a lump in the floor pan for a cat.

Has anyone successfully put buckets in a 260 without smashing crap out of the floor?

I believe some can fit and others can not.

They sit in fine, it's just attaching them to the floor....

Personally I think your only option is to modify the OEM seat mounts if you really want the Pole Positions to fit

I run Profi SPG's in my 240Z and to get them exactly how I wanted involved cutting and welding the OEM seat mounts and using genuine Recaro fixed side mounts

Do they not sit really high? I'm not really bothered about them sliding I'm happy for them to be fixed.

Nope, really low, I cut and welded the OEM seat mounts, the parts of the shell/floor the runners mount to, not the runners

This allowed me to use Recaro fixed side mounts and to get these low and parallel to the floorpan

I think there are some pics of what I did on a thread on Hybridz

Is this on a 240 or 260/80? The floor pan on the later cars has a massive bulge on the passenger side

Yes the bulge was for the catalytic converter, it’s a pia for getting any seats to fit.

I have been looking to see if I can find any seats for my Sam but have not been able to find any that will fit without the hump being bashed!

Unless anyone out there has an info on seats that might fit a 260 or 280z?

It's a pain in the bum! Wouldnt have been an issue if I knew before painting it!
