These cars are attractive to me BUT I reckon they could be a huge risk hence low 'residuals'.

Anyway this car is reported to have a good service history but is it?

https://www.classiccarauctions.co.uk/bmw-m5-touring-8543

Most items listed are marked as not maintained!

When I serviced my 370Z I used to list everything I did but this appears to show everything they didn't do!

Am I missing something here?

Amazing cars, well engines. I borrowed one for a month from a good friend. They need to be wrung out, possibility of some spectacular bills. Proper ones. Very proper ones.

Its a supercar engine, last of a type. My friend had some issues with his gearbox and sun roof, all done under warranty.

I wouldn't buy one of these from an auction. I'd be looking at owners sites or specialist dealers.

I like that car a lot. Where do you see the service history Rob?

It's in the pics Jon.

Remember I posted about a black one a few weeks ago and you replied?

Hope to make the viewing next Friday with Tim W.

Coming?

I do remember it Rob. I liked that too. Don’t think I can come to the auction.

Can I be the old grannie here and ask "what's the point?"

It's an Estate.
It's an automatic.
It drinks.
Costs a fortune merely to have on your front drive BEFORE you turn the key.
Parts and servicing are supercar too.

Somebody ?

Blinded by science - now....put that in an S30 2+2 and Icould understand the smirk on your face.

They're special bits of engineering Sean. Very Special. I've always loved fast estates and proper Q-car's, which this is.

Its a triumph of a massive corporation doing something just because they can. This, the Z3M coupe etc.

Could have been done better (see attached).....and could have been worse !

Appreciated but what is the point of someone having this on a UK road as a customer ?

How much has this car lost in value since it left the forecourt ?

Wunder-break.....

I agree Sean, it is a bit 'bonkers' these days and that's probably why it's in a auction.

However I can't help liking it.

It’s a bit odd for Z owners to ask ‘what’s the point’ of any special car. The point is it tickles you. If you just want to go from A to B, get a 10 yr old small Toyota.
