Looks like you over cooked that a bit mate, Very sad indeed looked like a nice car. Glad no one was hurt that's the most important thing.

Truly gutting! I once had a very loved MR2 that swapped ends on a patch of diesel on a wet road at 50mph into the oncoming traffic.

Losing the car was the most painful bit, all that time and love you poured into it!!! I feel your pain brother.

But thank God you are OK that's what really matters.

Sorry to hear Mate

The pain won't go away quickly but you're in 1 piece and there will always be other projects on the Horizon.

From what he was telling me, no overcooking occurred, he was just driving up hill (so foot down a little to compensate) and the back end broke away :(

Really sorry to see this Dave, but as has been said mate, I'm glad you're ok. Looks like the engine and interior are still all in one piece though, so should have a fair bit on there you can sell on to recoup some costs.

The guy next door did something similar the other year with his nearly new M3 going up hill in the wet rear end broke away and ended up on his roof in a field, Powerful rear wheel drive cars and wet weather not always a good combo.

You could always buy another standard one a swap the good bits over, Most important thing is everybody is OK cars can be replaced even though it hurts.

Am now looking at my varied options which are either
1, insurance company takes car
2, they write it off and i get car back
3, i end up with nothing but a broken shell.

so just incase its option 2 i would like to know if they are any reasonable zx's(bodywise & must be a manual) available that may just need a engine swap to get back on the road again.

Heartbreaking for you. Years of hard work, all gone in a couple of seconds. Glad you were unhurt - good luck with your next car.
