I know a number of people running close to 500hp with the stock autobox. Not sure about the upgrades or ecu as most people running thes upgrades have gone with manual transmission.

The autobox has its own ECU integrated with the engine ECU, so not a simple swap into another vehicle...

Thanks anyway,I was actually going to leave the box in its own bed:),a relative is chewing over the idea of getting an auto 300zx and he aint spanner savvy.Im not prepared (if necessary)for the headache at mo to mess with unfamiliar auto ecus.

I had a TT running around 500bhp with auto box, had a HKS ALC 2 fitted to autobox ecu(simple job) then changed oil to Lucas Racing ATF (The best in my opinion) , never had a problem from there on , ran Santa Pod and track and blitzing all over the country to shows, meets etc, in my opinon frequent oil changes, yearly or every 5-7k miles, more if you use it like i did, also helps to get a sump plug fitted to auto box, saves having to remove pipes to oil cooler to let out fluids.(though of course you can not remove all the fluid in the box this way,but over a short period of time partial changes will eventualy give you that nice red colour!;))

Cheers for that,i just had a quick look at that hks alc2, nice simple mod saves messing/shimming with valvebodies(which i'd end up doing for him)seems quite a tough box then, ill pass on the info, no doubt he wont have researched it himself:thumbs:
