OK everybody, the Zclub now have a stand for this event. Unfortunatly clubs are only allowed a 10 car stand so I have 10 stand passes for Sunday and Monday. These are good for free admission and will go to the first people to sign up. It would be nice if we could get a good variety of cars with at least one example of each type.

Event info from website -

For those of you that have attended the pageant before you would agree that this is not just a car show. It is an event for everyone. In 2008 we have changed all our acts for the main arena and introduced a brand new programme with some of the finest displays and comedy in the country. All is set for one great weekend with something there for everyone of all ages.
  • Over 90 club stands
  • Free live entertainment to all exhibitors on Sunday night (heated marquee)
  • Cars for sale section (please phone for details)
  • An enormous section of Autojumble
  • Huge craft marquees
  • 100s of trade stands
  • 1st class arena programme
  • Air displays
  • New supercar section
  • Catering for all tastes
  • Showers
  • Extra exit road
NO LIMITZ – JUNIOR MOTORCYCLE DISPLAY TEAM

An organisation with the aim to promote motorcycling positively for both the young and old and instilling self discipline in all the riders. The recently formed team consists of riders from as young as six years old up to sixteen and includes girls as well as boys. The team all ride Kawasaki off road bikes ranging from 60cc to 125cc and perform a variety of stunts to entertain the audience.

DINGLE FINGLE’S CLOWNTOWN CRIMEWATCH
dingle.jpg

Dingle Fingle Clown Chauffeur is an undercover Policeman. His job is to catch slippery Sid the classic car thief.

BANG! Dingles thrown from the car. See it DRIVE BY ITSELF as if by remote control.

WATER JETS, HORNS, BREAKAWAY DOORS – MOVING CAR STUNTS, DRAGS and FALLS.

Will the ejector seat give Sid his escape? ALARM BELLS ring, the cars on fire….

Can the FINGLE FIRE FIGHTING EQUIPMENT put it out? Or is it just a SMOKE SCREEN for Slippery Sid to steal the car unseen?

ADRENALINE TOUR
adrenaline.jpg

The Adrenaline Tour uses ex-World Championship moto-cross rider Jason Smyth to perform stunts. You will see amazing tricks on a quad bike, a mini bike, as well as wheelies and stoppies on a motorbike. You will also see moto-cross freestyle jumps, catching items of memorabilia in mid air and then awarding them to the crowd, and many more stunts that have to be seen to be believed. Jason also performs all these stunts whilst giving an informative and humorous commentary via a microphone in his helmet.

THE IMPS MOTORCYCLE DISPLAY TEAM supported by YAMAHA

Imps.jpg

The IMPS are the display team of the IMPSTART TRUST, a charity dedicated to helping children grow to maturity through adventurous experiences. The team has around forty youngsters aged between five and sixteen years who perform slow and fast intricate formation riding, interspersed with individual and group tricks, pyramids, tableau, car jumps and fire jumps with some comedy included in the programme. They have performed nationally at such prestigious venues as the Royal Tournament and again at the Edinburgh Military Tattoo in 2005 plus many of the major UK shows. International venues include Hamburg, Bermuda, Portugal, Canada, Germany, Belgium, Singapore and the Netherlands.

CRUSTY THE CLOWN – Crusty’s Comedy “Ice Cream” Cart

Up to 30 minutes slapstick clowning with an “Ice Cream” Cart which is definitely not user-friendly. Watch Crusty try to sever “Ice Cream” in cones which keep getting larger, while the cart objects in every possible way. Bangs, smoke, buckets of water and coloured “ice cream” everywhere, resulting in a gloriously messy routine.

JAMES DYLAN’S STUNTWORLD –

2.jpg

spectacular action from Britain’s most experienced stunt team

James Dylan formed STUNTWORLD in 1972 and since then has gone from strength to strength, resulting in the present format of four motorcycle riders, commentator and stunt co-ordinator. Stuntworld has performed all over the world, including tours of Australia, the USA, Middle East and Far East. James Dylan has appeared on numerous television programmes and videos, including “The World’s Most Amazing Videos”. He was the first person ever to land on the back of a moving motorcycle by parachute. He is also the official Stunt Trainer for EuroDisney and has been selected as Stunt Co-ordinator by main to today’s greatest stuntman.

Stuntworld currently holds seven world records – from James Dylan’s “Tunnel of Fire” achieved in 1975 and still stands today – to Alan Burton’s 428ft “Fire Run” on 28th December 2003. Stuntworld’s professionalism is second to none and their ability to mingle spectacular stunts with the right amount of comedy, makes the show fantastic entertainment for all age groups.

MOTO-STUNTS INTERNATIONAL

Originally formed in 1979 by Tony Baily, they have performed throughout the UK and Europe. The show, everchanging and advancing, uses his vast experience and expertise and has taken part in many British World Record & TV appearances. This unique jeep/motorcycle display team creates a great visual impact. With its large arena display, its impeccably turned out team members and vehicles, consisting of 5-6 Suzuki Jeeps and 8 motorcycles, all signwritten in team colours, they make a striking sight.

The programme consists of motorcycle wheelies, speed crossovers in breathtaking formation driven by both bikes and jeeps. A wheelie jeep, Endo and rollover jeep, different ways to ride a bike and two wheel driving – not on a bike! Sensational jumps by motorcycles over jeeps, some off a moving ramp, combine to make this a very exciting display (show may vary depending on weather conditions).

A thrilling fire jump forms the grand finale of the show and an accomplished commentary done by a team member while taking part in the stunts, compliments this exhilarating 30min+ show and gives the display a very professional finish.

CLOWN PADDYWACK AND HIS VETERAN COMEDY CAR

4.jpg

This highly skilled and expertly timed presentation is an action-packed routine of hilarious situations and exciting feats with a 1931 Morris car. The original “thrill-packed spectacle on wheels”, this act will delight all who like an exploding car with lots of pyrotechnics. A lady ringmaster provides the commentary throughout and attempts to create order out of chaos. A winning combination of comic capers, slapstick stunts, fantastic feats and whacky witticisms – traditional comedy and clowning at its best from one of the most experienced comedy double acts on the professional outdoor circuit today.

Featured on TV in “The Hypnotic World of Paul McKenna” and “The Freddie Starr Show”, Paddywack’s Comedy Car guarantees to keep ALL the family thoroughly entertained from start to finish.

HAUREL AND LARDY – the world’s best loved tribute act

Jem Frazer and Graeme Hardy are Haurel and Lardy. Together they are a fitting tribute to the original comedy kings, Laurel and Hardy, the boys offer far more than the usual mix, mingle, meet and greet so often associated with look-a-likes and tribute acts. They are both accomplished close-up magicians and always bring that special brand of humour to any event or function. With a vast array of props and costumes, the centrepiece of which is their original 1920’s Model T Ford motor car, identical to the one used by Laurel and Hardy.

UTTERLY BUTTERLY WINGWALKING DISPLAY TEAM

The Utterly Butterlys offer entertainment and visually exciting displays to delight the whole family. Slicing through the sky up to 150mph the deliciously daring wingwalkers wave from the top wing of their Boeing Stearman biplanes during a mouth-watering sequence of loops, rolls and rollercoaster flypasts.

They perform over 100 displays each season and the team has a collective experience of over 5000 displays. The Utterly Butterlys have displayed throughout the UK and in France, Germany, Belgium, Netherlands, Switzerland, Luxemburg, Portugal, Italy, Spain, United Arab Emirates and China.

The Royal Artillery Parachute Team

parachute.jpg

The Black Knights Parachute Team is one of the premier teams in the country. The team consists of 6 soldiers from different Regiments of the Royal Artillery and is renowned for their breath taking displays. The team will leave you in awe as 4 to10 of them fall away from the aircraft at anything up to 12000ft reaching speeds of up to 130mph, streaming colored smoke behind them before deploying their parachutes at 3000ft. They will perform a whole range of “air-o-batic” stunts and canopy formations before gliding into the arena with pinpoint accuracy. Guaranteed to draw the crowds, and a pleasure to drop in.

Thanks Nick!
Of course it's OK, but I want to try to avoid having only 300's on the stand. We'll see what kind of response we get between the clubs but the first 240, 260, 280, Z31, Z32TT and 350Z's to sign up will get priority.

Looks like this may be a no-go. With one week to go we have one confirmed attendee and one maybe from the Zclub and two maybes from 300zx.co.uk. The Gold Cup is also on this weekend followed by Zedfest and JAE so may be best to cancel. I will be on holiday until Thursday so I will not be able to follow up with everyone. If you are still interested in attending, PM me with your address and I will send you a stand pass.

Well, turned out to be a good meet today despite the lack of Z's. Met up with one Zclub member for the first time, Barry was good comapany and owns the cleanest 1990 Z32 you'll ever see, 35K miles, completely original, paint, wheels, and engine bay still looked new. Also chatted with a couple people from other clubs, couldn't bear to park on the open pitch so blaged my way onto the Skyline owners club stand. The Zeds got plenty of looks, if we got the right mix of cars our club could be one of the standout's next year.

Will post a few pics after I figure out why I cant paste the links.
