Arggh - help! Need some bolts for the clutch fitting

So i'm trying to quickly source some bolts, which seem hard to find. These were threaded on my flywheel / crank - well 2 of them were. The garage has fits the threads in the crank, but need 2x replacements bolts and ideally longer, to go deeper into the crank giving the threading which occurred.

M12 x 1.25 (either 30mm or 35mm)

Aarrgghhh - this job is really turning into a bitch. Neither of the clutches i ordered fitted either (240z or 280z)

So, the 240z (which has 280z block and gearbox) is in the garage to have the clutch done (along with the mail seal).

I'd ordered 2 clutches from RockAuto, one for a 240z and one for a 280z. Neither of them fit. My garage is trying to see if can source some sort of part that would enable them to do something, but we'll see.

I'm somewhat stumped! I'd ordered both a 240z clutch and 280z clutch, just to avoid this very issue - car on a ramp in a garage with gearbox off and parts that don't fit.

Welcome anyones thoughts / ideas?

Here's a note from the garage on what they are seeing:

Pressure plate fingers - 18
Release bearing hole - 68mm
Hight - 58mm aprox

Drive plate -
Splines - 24
Width across centre in gaps - 25mm
23mm on top of splines
Width - 225mm

If you've got 225 mm across the friction surface on the friction disc and the flywheel, then I reckon the 240z clutch should fit.
What doesn't fit about it?

Any ideas on where to buy?
As I said in the other thread, I can see if I've got a couple of spares in the garage.
Or, ICP have some from an RB engine that are slightly longer: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/283746303190

BTW, did your garage they say the bolt came out like that? That's ugly.

I managed to buy a pair of 10.9's on a website. 40mm length which could be cut down to suit. I need longer than the original 25mm ones, given the thread damage and the extra thread in the crank that can be reached with a longer bolt. 35mm is the ideal, so 10mm longer. So far i've ordered several sets to the garage, as time is of the essence. Sadly it's not just parked up in my own garage.

Yes, bolt came out like that. Clearly some mechanic in the USA did not take care the last time the clutch was done and rendered the bolt like that. Has been a bit of a mad dash to find something that would do the job, as these bolts are not easy to find and all their local sources for parts in Edinburgh don't have such a bolt.

Thanks Jon. @stuart barrie also had some spares i could have got my hands on, but need the extra length given the thread damage which was been re-tapped, but garage keen to secure deeper in the crank (as there is at least an extra 10mm of thread inside).

Tim (@240L31) shared this https://www.jdmjunkies.ch/wordpress/2020-10-14/240z-transmissions-manuals-swap-possibillities/ which shows there's a confusing proliferation of combos.
if you can get the difference in height from your old clutch, and the height of you clutch collar (bearing surface to release fork surface) I'll see if I've got one that will fit in the bag of clutch collars I got from Rob.

Thanks for the info. I've passed that link on to the garage (who i know pretty well) for what it's worth. We'll see what tomorrow brings, and if they have any joy with any of there suppliers. Really hoping i haven't gone to all this hassle and expense, only to put the old clutch back on.

I guess worst case, you can put a new clutch disc in with the old cover. And you have got the rear seal done.

Yeah, it's looking like the new disc might be the only option. Yeah, i think the seal is successfully done. That was definitely the source of my leak.
