Are these 240z kickplates original or repro?

So here’s a question - how much of a water trap are these? I’m pretty sure my current ones are trapping water beneath them.

They are outboard of the main door seals, so they have potential to get a little wet on occasion. You could mitigate this by putting some sealant or waxoyl type protection underneath them when installing.

There should be some seals on the door themselves which help to deflect water from getting into that area: 'Banana' seals on the top part of the door structure that tucks under the screen when you close the door, and L-profile straight strips which are held onto the underside of the door structure with plastic rivets. The L-profile strips in particular often go AWOL.
