Appendix K Rally Car Prep

Hi All,

Having spent the last 4 years getting my US 240z sorted for reliable long distance touring, I am now contemplating ripping it apart to qualify for a HTP under Appendix K.

This is with a view to entering the likes of Rally Costa Brava and Modena Cento Ore etc.

I wondered if anyone here has been though this painful process and might be happy to chat over the phone, before I do something I might regret?!

Many thanks,

Nick D.

You might give James at Fourways Engineering a ring for a chat. Fourways have certainly gone through the HTP thing for a couple of customer cars in recent times, so James will possibly be able to give you some tips. Please mention that I suggested it.

I was involved in a very small way with one of them, trying to prove to the FIA people that Nissan's works rally cars used aluminium radiators in period (which is indisputable!) but failing... So I know it can be tough!

Good luck!

Thank you for your reply.

Having now spoken to a few different rally specialists, it seems I am better off keeping my Z as is to enjoy on the road and to look for an appropriate rally car that has been through the HTP even if expired.
