Another zed

Last Saturday I bought myself another zed, which sparked off the hasty sale of the yellow car. Picked the car up today and did a swap over in the workshop as the yellow car heads off to the Netherlands tomorrow.

I think the car has been in the club a while and has quite a few mechanical mods which is what attracted me to the car initially. Ive not had much of a look over the car but the spec sounds pretty good. Four ways built the sectioned struts and did the vented disk conversion. Oselli built the over bored 2.8 engine, which has only done a couple of thousand miles ago. It's running 45's and a four ways modified dizzy with msd ignition. Gearbox feels nice although the padle clutch is a bit heavy. It also has a nismo lsd which you can feel on tight corners. Interior has been trimmed in black leather and it has sparco rev's. An autometer tachometer and shift light along with oil temp gauge plus a front line lock complete the interior. All the original equipment has also been supplied amongst other bits a pieces. The paintwork is generally good but has a few chips and bit that could do with being touched up. First impression is the car is pretty solid but I will need to have a good dig around to be sure. The suspension is a bit too low at the back and maybe a little high at the front so I'll have a play tomorrow when I get back from dropping the yellow car off.

I've no idea what I'm going to do with the car but would like to take it down the strip a few times to get an idea on the extent of engine mods. So basically a bit of a tidy up and use the thing.

It was at my regular Saturday morning monthly car meeting. Someone asked me if I'd seen the 260 in the corner with a for sale sign. I rang the number on the car, spoke to the owner for 5mins and paid his asking price there and then. Seamed like an honest guy and he had owned the car for 14 years. All the work he had done was at fourways. Car has a low chassis number of 159 which sounded good. It also came with quite a few extra's like brand new MSD ignition kit and spare non Z Dizzy's plus a boxed Tokico lowering kit with springs and dampers.

Just can't wait to get out and drive it.

I was hoping to catch up with you ,but with a collection of 260's,if youv'e seen the prices of the classic car scene then it seems a good thing to put yer money into,ie ,mk11 lotus cortina,Talbot lotus, all could be had for 5k 5 years ago in good nick, look wot they go for now,all the fords going up silly money, looking at m11 rs 200 still within reach as the 260z,it's gone a bit silly, don't know if that's a good or bad thing, will have to nip over soon Jon and have a look,s14 treatment next week then I'll be over

Yeah. I was looking at that today and trying to work out what they were thinking. May have to swap them for fibreglass or painted steel.

Nice to see the rear number plate well illuminated ;)

With your comment & John's pic of rear of the car I see what you mean  Them bumper mounted lamps look so old fashioned & so out of place nowadays, certainly not in keeping with the rest of the cars clean lines, which is still within the top 5 cars ever penned to date in my eyes

Looks cool, liking the Euro front splitter and BRE style rear with the racing looking spec. Looks like it should be a hoot to drive! How many cars do you even own? lol. No doubt your addicted to Z's.

Hi John, yes the car is known to the Club. Did you buy it from a guy named Tony?

She is a beauty John.

Just watched an auction end on BAT for a nice US orange 73 Zed...went for $27,750. People are just besides themselves on the money these cars are bringing.

No way you can go wrong with a car like this 260 John.

Well done.

Lovely looking Z.

I'll probably be buying a house soon, but its got a triple garage and I only have two cars, so thats a good reason to buy another Z is it not? Before the prices get out my reach. All of you guys buying your second, third or fourth Z is making me feel the need for another.
