Hi everyone, Baz here.
Joined the forum a week or two ago and have just paid to join the club proper.
Thinking about getting a Z, probably a 260. Unfortunately I need to make some space before I start looking for something. I currently run a 1968 Singer Chamois Sport (posh sporty Hillman Imp) and a 1969 Singer Vogue (posh Hillman Hunter). I also have two projects, a 1972 Sunbeam Imp Sport (sporty Imp) and a 1967 Singer Vogue. As you can see I'm a Rootes fan but have recently had an itch to get something different. So I plan to sell the two Vogues to free up garage space and use the funds plus some savings to get the Imp Sport restored and buy a Z.
Had a look at some of the cars you had on show at the Silverstone Classic last year. Very, very nice!

Hopefully I'll have a Z in the next couple of months.

Hello Baz, welcome and good to hear from another Rootes fan.

I have owned two Imps. I owned an Imp when I was 18 and rallied it. I also did the Plains rally as a navigator in a 998 Imp. I then bought a Stiletto, followed by two Avenger GTs a 4 door 1500 and a 2 door 1600. I also rallied in a Tiger spec GT.

When I had my Z engine rebuilt a lot of the work was done by Imp expert Andy Chesman.

Also a hero of mine Andy Dawson rallied Imps before Datsuns!

See I am a Rootes fan.

I'd like to know more about your cars so perhaps 'Start a Conversation'.

Only picked it up yesterday. Busy helping friends move home so not had gome to do anything but dry it off and park it in the garage.
Can't wait for the weather to improve.

Cheers guys. Very happy with it. Lots of little detail jobs to do but nothing that will detract from enjoying it.
