Awesome, thinking quite far ahead here but how does the 12pm crossing from Folkstone sound as a rough plan?

Quite tempted by the prospect of a visit to the ring at the same time to join you John, haha sounds simple right! Would be slightly concerned with my stock brakes and the lack of insurance coverage but I'm sure that bit could be resolved....

Would be good to see you there as well Tony :D

Also curious to know if people are booking onto a Particular track session @Sylv1 ?? I've not booked any track time yet however I've never driven around Spa and would be a cool one to tick off with the Z assuming others are getting out there!

I haven't paid for track time either at this stage, €100 feels a little steep plus I would need a crash helmet. Does seem like a lot of effort to go to Spa and not do it, so a little undecided.

So are we looking at Ferry or Eurostar? Also room wise I have booked to stay on till Mon, thought it might make things a little more leasurly.

the big ones are session 5 with 9 of us, session 4 with 8, session 2 with 7, session 6 with 5 etc...

if you can, the best sessions are definitively on friday... with very low number of cars on track.

You need some more motivation to drive to Spa Classic 2019?

On Retromobile show where Datsun-France had a stand last week, the discussions with Peter Auto gave the confirmation that:

A Datsun-Nissan PARADE is confirmed on Sunday 19 May!!
Ok, it will be under pacecar regulations, but ALL Datsun/Nissan models are invited!

We are already 100+ cars on the club area, so if there is an opportunity to discover Spa Francorchamps track, do not miss it!!

Now booked, and very much looking forward to the ride out, and will be my first European jolly in the Z.

If any 'Northerners' are going/fancy it, I will be running with a Hull to Zeebrugge boat with P&O. being an overnight boat, this will get me fully refreshed onto the Continent first thing in the morning, having already had a coffee and a croissant on the boat. Very civilised option for me, as I will be travelling across the M62 to the ferry port. An alternative to battling all the way sown to the South East coast (I'm North West, on the Wirral)

Also booked a bungalow at Domaine Long Pre, looks a fab set-up and close by. Be a nice change from my usual place at Spa.

Depending on times of travel, hopefully may meet some of you as you're leaving Calais. I normally meet some of my 'Southerner' pals, for such a similar trip at the Jabbeke service station, so will keep an eye out for you fine chaps and chapesses.

Might consider this ferry route... what days are you travelling?

Sam I am taking a longer lazy weekend break. So boat departs from Hull (P&O Ferries) on Wednesday 15th May with check-in usually closing at around 5:30pm. That gets me into Zeebrugge early Thursday morning for a leisurely run to Stavelot. Initial motorway in Belgium then I soon drop down to Huy and take a very windy scenic route on the N66. Proper drivers road. Motorway all the way is pretty bland... https://goo.gl/maps/LHoRtaDN4JS2

Staying Sunday night at the accommodation, and will take a leisurely return to Zeebrugge for the Monday evening boat which gets into Hull Tuesday morning, 21st May.

You could shave a few days off that for sure, but as I say I will be 'chillin' enroute :)

I've done this option many a time, when some of the 'Southerners' in our road tour take the Eurotunnel route. They aim to get into Calais early morning, and we join up at the Jabekke services on the motorway mid-morning for a Euro group trip.

Jabekke is where they held land speed records in the day.

Hi All,
I am really keen to take my 240z to the Spa event whats the best way to go about sorting club place (if possible)? Event tickets? I am trying to bring 2 cars one of them is an E type so will need to book that in I guess on the Jaguar club bit but want to just get the ball rolling first.

Any advice appreciated. I have driven to the F1 at Spa but not for this event.

Thanks

Austin

Thanks for that, might look into that option if things work out and I can get away for this weekend. Living in North Yorkshire makes it a er....slightly more appealing prospect than the slog down south!

We'v booked the 10.20am channel tunel crossing going on Thursday 16th now and the 10.20pm return on Sunday 19th.

Should have loads of time for a nice drive down once we hit the continent keeping away from the motorway....

Fab, I will have plenty of time to arrange a rendezvous you as you come out of Calais.

Couple of 918's blasting towards the Ardennes shud be a great sight, but you'll have to slow down for me.. EXTRA;)
