Ok I have a nice afr guage which requires an innovate lc1 or lc2 controller and sensor but I I know nothing about these at al,l what I do know is that I do not need to give the ecu any information from the controller. Getting a bit  now as to whats the difference between these

Not sure what to make of it Terry. My lc-1 full kit was around £200 brand new. I bought it from a uk company about 18 months ago. Just did a search on ebay and they are loads of money. Not sure why! The lc1 is now an old model and has been replaced by the lc2. You just need the controller and lambda.

Earthing is critical for all engine management/monitoring and it needs to be a fixed, stable reference point. If its shared you risk it's potential raising above zero.

Ground related problems, (loops, noise, current etc) represent some of the most difficult electrical problems to diagnose, spent many an unhappy hour chasing them on simplistic systems right up to super computers.
