A tale of two Zed Cars....

First thing to do was to take stock and find all the parts required, from three locations. Last year I got a workshop and in the process of moving stuff between my house, my mum’s garage, Dave’s body shop and Alan’s garage, the stuff got put into plastic boxes and mixed up. Most of the engine stuff is with Alan and after painting the engine, I polished the rocker cover and we started putting the engine together.

My task prior to putting in the rebuilt engine and gearbox is to get the dashboard refurbed as so many interfaces are straight from the engine to the dash. I have a new dash to replaced the cracked and rotten previous one.

Once the loom, clocks and screws were out, the old dash just crumbled in my hands, confirming they are not worth trying to save. Once it’s all gone, just left with a aluminium chassis.

The clocks themselves needed some cleaning as they had lots of dust inside and the lenses were covered on 48 years of baked on crap. The lenses were also scratched so I used some cutting agent to clean and polish them894C1591-FCA3-4B82-A1C8-C2AD7EB37113.jpeg4C854D4B-BA70-4778-BE95-22CED547A88C.jpeg
