8j wheels, 225 50 or 60 15 tyres??

I've a set of 8j et 0 wheels to fit.....

What size tyres will fit? 225 50 15's or 225 60 15's. I'm leaning towards wanting the 60's as I can get decent tyres for a decent price!

Will they fit ok? Does everyone go for 225/50/15's on 8j et0 wheels?

60 will fit - also depends upon your suspension of course but will it be the right ratio for an accurate speedo reading..................?

I have 205/60/15 as my road set-up and they are fine but 225 would be a big dia tyre - perhaps too big.

Rob - why should a 225/50 be so much bigger a diametre than a 205/60 ?

Sean the original qusetion was 225/50 or 60. I was saying I have 205/60 and they are 'tall' enough in my opinion. 225/60 would be too tall.

I run 225/50 x 16 and I think the diameter is about right. If you go for 225/50 x 15 (an inch smaller in diameter) I think they will be too small. 60 profile will be better IMO.

isn't 225 is little narrow for an 8J rim? I've got 225 on my 7J rims, and they're flush with the rim faces.

I'm not worried about the speedo reading, it doesn't start till 20mph :)

225 is the perfect size for an 8J rim from when I've had them before. Just the hassle of choosing rubber now!
