It's true, saw this info on 300zx.co.uk and dropped them a line .. this is the score:

"We currently have two in stock with a third on its way.

They both have the a 3500 cc engine which produces 280 bhp and a 0-60 time of 5 seconds.

The only difference between the two is the ST model has:
Bose Sound
6 stack CD
Leather
Electric seats
Heated Seats"

- Quite tempted to go and have a look, but it's a fair trek from Sunny Kent! - BTW, am going to Orlando with work in early Nov ... colleague over there has promised to arrange a test-drive for me at the local Nissan dealership. I'll report back findings - just hope it's not an auto!! LOL

A customer of mine recently rang Nissan to blag some tickets to see the 350Z at the NEC Motor Show (ha!ha&#33 - he was given the information that, as Nissan were launching the new Micra, they didn't want to detract from this, so the 350Z would not be there!!!! However, after a ten minute sarcastic tirade from said customer, he did get verbal confirmation of an October 2003 release for the UK and a price of £27,500 - can we wait that long?

A Jap import looks very tempting if you have the cash to spend and, at c£30,000 the price is not too far away from the projected UK price (and the spec is probably better).

One of my suppliers in the USA, Stillen, have released their body kit parts and have a prototype supercharger rigged up on a car. This is said to provide 70-80 bhp and will be coupled with an active hi-flow induction kit and other goodies. 400bhp should be a serious possibility.

Check out the Stillen parts at a recent show - www.freshalloy.com and look under Stillen Nissan Day. Lots of pics - body kits available from MJP (Eastern Auto):

Front fascia £549
Rear valence £295
Sill covers £450 pair
All plus VAT and subject to revision without notice....
A second kit version is already in the pipeline.

BTW there is an unsold silver LHD 350Z in a Nissan showroom in Abu Dhabi if anyone is desparate.

Out of interest ....

Last week when I picked mine up from the local Nissan garage (300 not 350&#33, I picked the sales guy's brain about the 350 ... unfortunately I seemed to know more about it than he did, although he also confirmed that it was going to be here (for defo) in October, although he reckoned on a 25-26k price tag.

I had gone with the intention of putting down a deposit (book early to avoid disappointment and all that), but he said they wouldn't be taking deposits until March next year - although this was an estimation on his part. Anyway, he's promised to ring me as soon as there's further info, but I'm not holding my breath (based on past performance).

As I was about to leave he imparted the greatest revalation of the conversation - "There's quite a few enthusiats of Nissan sports-cars out there, actually, you know" - No, Really?

John.

Projected price over here in France is 45,000 euros (28,000 pounds) with an October 2003 release (and a cabriolet version?).
No news at all on what Nissan are going to do to launch it - they don't want to know about us and our offers to supply cars.
I guess it will be the same story of ignorant salespeople talking about the Z heritage without ever having seeen an origianal Z - it would be nice to have them grouped together...
