[SOLVED] 350z

Desperately seeking a 350z - but when will it be here in the Uk. Some say at the end of the year and some say never - not unless it is a grey import.

Does anyone out there have the inside track.

Hi Lady Zed owner . I dont have any inside info to tell you, but I think that your chances of buying a new UK sourced 350Z will be similar to your own "one in a million" quote.
Consider this:- If you were a car maker would you see the UK as a natural market for a 3500cc 2 seater sports car?
Just be patient and wait till the yanks get it. then after a couple of years the price of second hand Californian examples will make importing one a feasable idea.(I hope! )

There is no firm date for U.K. release of the 350Z, but the rumours suggest next year at the earliest. It is pretty unlikely that we will be offered the five options of the USA market - my guess would be "Touring" spec. only. I wonder if anyone from Nissan G.B. reads this forum?
Pmacs comments on the U.K. market and Nissan's market research on our love of two seater coupe models has a hollow ring of truth: we lost the 260Z 2 str for two years mid-production, the 280ZX 2 str half way through its run, and never saw the Z31 300ZX or the Z32 300ZX variants.

The 350Z is already being modelled in RHD form for the Japanese home market. We should stop using the word "grey" when it comes to imports - Nissan recognise that these models are coming to our shores in quantity and are stocking the parts variations to service them. There would be nothing shameful about having the first RHD 350Z imported from Japan as soon as possible - if you could get hold of one. I understand that there are very few left un-ordered in the States and the lucky first owners will be receiving their new toys in August.

when I am over at the Z car convention in San Antonio, in June, I will ask one of the visiting Nissan guests from Japan if they know of the projected release date in the UK
I remember seeing on one of the 350Z sites that a guy in England has placed an order for one and I imagine that he will import it here
Also Nissan are providing a 350Z to lead a 150/200 Z car convoy from Dallas to San Antonio and Iwill be one of the first Z Club members to see one on the road

Had the first offer to import a RHD 350Z from Japan this week. Proposed cost in the region of £36,000 to £40,000. The Japanese market is getting the base model (Fairlady Z), Version T (a luxury version with leather, electric seats and BOSE sounds), Version S (the Sports version with 18" alloys, Brembo brakes and vehicle dynamic control) and Version ST (a combination of S and T, unsurprisingly). Seven colours are offered: white pearl, sunset orange, sparkling silver, burning red, diamond silver, Monterey blue and super black. Interiors are in black fabric, black leather or burnt orange leather (the latter not available with white or red paint).

Nismo already have an extensive catalogue of sports parts including body kit, G-attack suspension package, S-tune brake pads, alternative wheel styles, Weldina stainless steel exhausts, sports air filter, engine oil cooler, power steering cooler and a limited edition combination meter for Version S and ST.

Nissan dealer optional parts include clear front repeaters, airdam finisher, styled mud guards, Bilstein suspension, Ray's 18" alloys, Fujitsubo "Z" logo titanium exhaust, stainless steel exhaust, Momo steering wheel, sports and luxury floor mats.

Take a look at www.prospec-ms.co.uk for lots of pics and info.

If you want to drive a 350Z but can't afford a real one - the next best thing is fresh out on the market. Pick up a copy of Gran Turismo Concept (just released) select the silver 350Z offered in "Concept Cars", make a few suspension adjustments, take the soft tyre option and use it to thrash the opposition by up to ten seconds a lap. I hope the real thing is this good - I would definitely want one. The Skyline Concept is in there somewhere, but you have to earn your seat in that one. The original Concept Z is back in this version of the game also, but the 350Z beats it easily.

BTW - self congratulations in order on becoming a centigenarian: this is my one hundredth post on the forum!

I just read that here in France the car will be on sale from October 2003 at a price of 28000 pounds.
Strong rumour that a cabriolet will also be available - anyone else heard anything on that?

As noted in another post, Nissan have sort of confirmed October 2003 for the UK and a price of £27,500. It seems that they are going to reconfigure the suspension settings for us as we wouldn't like the Japanese or USA settings (??). My guess is that they will also want to add things like oil coolers to engine, gearbox, differential, power steering and anything else they can think of to aid reliability during all that ultra high speed driving we can indulge in on our excellent, uncongested and well-maintained UK roads.....

Found most of the A14 yesterday, some of it twice, but there was a crucial bit missing off the end. Please let me know when you locate it, as I am a regular user.
