300zx 1988 Z31 ignition parts needed

Unfortunately unplugging the air regulator won't solve a problem. If it is stuck open it will stay stuck. The electrical part just powers the heater around the bimetallic strip and the unit is bolted directly to a hole in the plenum.
They should still be available but, like most units of this type, not cheap.

Hi, 1st of all, thanks for your input. Can I not dismantle these parts and clean them out in an attempt to make them do what they were supposed to do?

maybe check the plugs wiring into it for corrosion ,ive never looked myself but if you take it off a cold engine and look through it you might be able to see if the valve is open or shut?

Steve have you checked the fault codes on the ECU??? This may indicate the problem. It’s a case of trying the basics first and ticking them off as you go. It maybe as you said letting the tank go low could have blocked the filter or even the injectors? I would see what codes are displayed first tho? Out of interest were are you based?
