just got a reply........

Hi martin,

Its going through an mot in a few days, it doesnt need any welding. Its mainly cosmetic.
Bodywork is ok, Tailgate needs repair as you can see on the images.
Paintwork is ok too but to make really nice could do with touching up in bits.

Engine is sweet as a nut, and drives well.

Give me a call if you want to come down and have a look.

Jason baker.

this would prob make a nice motor?? ill give him a ring in the week and report back

Hi everyone,

Sold the 280zx today to a fellow Z head. I bought a 260 2+2 with a rover 3.5 v8 conversion as my new project. Ill keep everyone posted and upload some images soon.

Picked up a 260 engine with fast road cam, just got to decide which of the two engines ill run.

Again, ill be reporting on the project and plug the club as a very helpful website to give you guys extra publicity.

Who bought it ? Potential member here ?

Anyway, why the change of model and why the hesitation over the engine choice for a classic car mag journalist ? You into tuning - want to have the first 2+2 Scarab ? L series every time !!!!!

Hi everyone, no not really into the tuning side for the 2+2. It already had the V8 lump in it so i think ill run it as it is depending on how the insurance companies view it. :D

A few things changed recently, I am in partnership in a 260z track / rally car (entry level UK events) the 2+2 was actually bought for spares and a doner car but when i picked it up it was far too good to break and i decided to bring it back to life. So this being my new project the 280zx sadly had to go.

I pointed the new buyer in the clubs direction so hopefully he'll show his face around here soon. (he's already a 260z 2+2 owner)
