280zx power steering

Hi

I'm appealing to 280zx owners particularly 81-83.

I am progressing my power steering build for my S30 and will be using a 280zx drive and pump. I have managed to pick up a belt tensioner pulley from an 81-83 car (see pics) but I can't work out how it bolts to the engine. I have sussed the top bolt which uses the fuel rail stud but I can't see how the bottom 2 holes are fixed on the bracket.

The earlier 79 tensioner is easier as it has a triangular bracket that uses existing studs but the later one does not line up with any fixing points at the bottom that I can see. Does the later model have a different head that provide these points or am I missing a bracket that provides a fixing point.?

If anyone can advise or provide pics I would be grateful.
Thanks

If only we all had the space to keep all our bits.

A while ago (15 years) I bought a 280Zx engine and box - I wanted it for the box. Kept the engine for a few years and then sold it for £75 (cheap but that's what I paid for it). When I first got it I junked all the PS stuff!

Hi Paul

I would have thought it would be the bolt holes highlighted? I can not see any other brackets looking at a parts listing.

Thanks Huw. Yeah that's what I thought. I looked at the pics you emailed to me but when I tried it on the car the holes just didn't seem to line up. Maybe I was just being a numpty and trying the wrong bolts. I will have to try again or wait to see what Steve comes up with with the parts he is taking off his breaker. It sounds like he has the earlier pulley which is the same shape as yours.
