I think I just reversed it.
I made a small cut in mine,
I used the S14 rubber gaiter and a 2-3mm thick sheet of rubber. I cut the sheet to cover the tunnel hole, fastening under the standard bracket/frame. I cut a circular hole in it, which the S14 rubber boot stuck up through. I ran a bead of silicon sealant around the edge to give a basic seal. No impediment to movement.
Great info, just what I needed. I thought I was going mad with no mention of different boots on the swaps I’d read about.
