Kind of agree with Sean, it’s overpriced for what it is.

On the face of it it doesn’t look to bad, just tatty and needs paint. But you need to have a good poke around at it, especially chassis rails, floors, door bottoms, front wing inners etc. From the pictures it appears to have rust coming on the front valance panel under the windscreen. That’s probably the worst area to repair if rust is taking a hold. It’s a screen out job and they are bonded and a bugger to get out whole with out cracking it, but can be done if your careful. Dash is scrap but other plastics look reasonable. Contrary to popular belief, the plastic bits for these interiors are difficult to come by as they crumble. So make sure it’s all there in the car. Seat covers are available so that no bother. Other bits are the bumpers, impossible to source new but can be fixed if straight and the stainless centre trim bit is not dented. The rubber over bumpers can be stuck back on as the bonded bolts tend to come off.

You need to have a look at it in person tho.

I'm with Huw - man of deeper ZX experience than I.

I've always said that if one sees rust on the outside of an S130 it's 'too late' - that is the tip of the iceberg whereas with an S30 - what you see if what you get.

Agree with Huw on the interior parts very difficult to replace if plastic is brittle as it will just fall apart when just stripping it out will be difficult to find replacement part unless coming from front USA as for a replacement Lhd dash also probably looking at USA.
As for removing the windscreen not to difficult if you take you time and use a cheese wire, I’ve repaired the scuttle panel below the screen not an easy job but it is possible all depends on time and patience it’s all only metal shaped and bent all do-able

As for an s130! Rust on surface it’s to late it’s no different to a s30 only the metal on the s130 is better to weld as slightly thicker rust hides just the same on a s30 as it does on a s130!they all rust from the inside out some more than others depending on there history.
As for the price it all depends on what you find if you do go and look at it , might be better than we think from photo’s but look carefully and dig deep ,think the price is a little steep if aimed at the Uk market just my opinion :)

Maybe the metal is thicker....but one doesn't weld to rust and all the panels are available for the S30s.

The S130 chassis has too many rust traps - you see it on an S30 - you know where it is and how deep.

I'm not saying one model is better or worse than another here - just that if you see it on an S130, you've a lot more work to do - take the scuttle panel for instance.....

Agreed Sean
You don’t weld to rust
I’m also not saying 1 model is better or worse than another but as far as what you see is what you get I have to disagree in a polite manner ;)
Because I’ve taken the scuttle panel of my s130 because of signs of rust and no rust on the firewall/ bulkhead panel below,.
Now I’ve taken the scuttle panel of my s30 no rust on scuttle panel but oh my god the rust on the 2 panels below you wouldn’t believe,so you don’t always get what you see or I didn’t  agreed panels are very hard to find for the s130 especially a 2 seater ;):leaving:

Let us then agree to disagree because I believe that you've just proved my point with the scuttle panel !;)

On the S130 it is an integral part of the chassis and rust there is therefore structual - removing it is not a matter of a few screws as with the S30s which allows one to inspect underneath for any rust and in any case comfortably repair and treat or merely replace a single, lightweight panel.EXTRA:D

IMO when it comes to a 280ZX, buy the best one you can as the interior parts are hard to come by and a re-paint is very expensive compared to the completed car value.
These are still pretty cheap, under $10-$15K, in the states for a really nice one.....hard to find with under 100K miles. Still better to rebuild a high mileage engine than a re-paint and interior kit.
