Replacing the analogue clock with a later digital clock, does anybody know where each connections goes to on the PCB?

Please see the attached.

Thanks.

Am attempting the same on mine, but my car wiring differs from all schematics and for all years for some strange reason. However, the answer to your question is:

1= blue/red
2 = black (-)
3 = blue/white (+)
4 = green/white

If you car is later than a 1982, in theory it should just plug in and work.

You can test your digital clock on a bench to make sure it is working. I am going to be writing up a how to on here very soon.

Good luck.

just my 2 pence worth - my car had the digital clock and it worked when it wanted......and to me it always looked a bit naff......so I bought a set of clocks with the old analogue style in ( and as we all know these old analogue clocks never work due to age and rusty internals ) so I removed the clock face and gutted the workings but kept the clock support frame that screws into the clock pod and 'by the power of ebay' got a clock from an old ford ( these have plastic cogs ) and fitted the Datsun face over it, glued it into the clock pod....

Simple, cheap, job and the end result is a nice, original, looking analogue clock that keeps good time.

Ped, if you need to check wiring etc on a 1983 280zx with a digital clock I am in Reading. Just let me know and we can go to the storage place and look at the car..
