It's funny you should say that. It arrived today, thanks Sean! Keeping the old headers though...

Decided to go a bit retro on the suspension, so have gone for a 'single leaf' setup. Hope it handles OK?

Decided to go for perspex (blister pack) windscreen as the original one was stone chipped and discoloured. Not quite up to the optics of Pilkington, but will save weight. Oh, and you can see through it too.

You forget how small the Zed is compared to modern cars…

So… What Has It All Cost?

Purchase Price (in pence Sterling): 300p
Shipping: Free! (Royal Mail 2nd Class)
Number of Minutes of Labour: Too many to admit to!
Parts and paint: 800p
Sundries: 100p

Value on the open market before restoration: 300p - 400p

So… What Is It Worth Now?

My valuation, is based on similar vehicles of this type and, bearing in mind this car has not even covered 1 mile on the open road! The engine is so quiet you could swear it wasn’t there at all! Believed to have been is storage in an attic for many years until put up for auction be the previous owner, so only a two owner car!!!

Value Now: £31,950.00 ovno
(May swap for a Bugatti Veyron, W.H.Y?)

No time wasters, or tyre kickers. Serious buyers only, you won't find another out there! EXTRA:D

Excellent result! Do you have any documentation? I would be interested as I think I have space for it in my collection.

BTW, I've bought one of those pens too. I keep finding myself looking at things in the house wondering if they might look better with a little added chrome (I need something to practice on) - is it just me or does anyone else do that?!

Nice little hobby task.

My Dad produced models of all the cars he'd owned. He also built replica train stock and layouts including his local station.

One trick he used for detail was to photograph the object to be modelled and then use sections of the photo and stick them on the model. This worked well for wheels. Your wheels appear to be drawings, so you might want to try it.

I'm afraid the V5 is nowhere to be found. The DVLA have never heard of the the car maker 'Matchbox'? The details stamped on the underside only give brief details. Feel free to make me an offer, but I won't go less than £31,000.00!

On the chrome pen issue, I have the same thing with quick drying glue, I am forever looking for stuff that needs fixing.

I do like the idea of putting together a collection of the cars I have owned. Ebay here we go again...
