Yep stunning, love it. When you getting it back?, would love to pop round and see it, is it coming back with major panels fitted?

Coming back without the panels fitted although they are getting painted today. Would have liked to have it back in one piece but tbh they’ll all come straight back off again for risk of damage during rebuilding

Looks lovely. The fewer times the panels have to go on and off the better though ... can you cover them in something when they’re on? Getting them to line up as good as they did pre paint without any marks / scuffs will be a tricky job.

I’ll do my best to keep things covered, I’ve bought a soft shell cover but intend to keep all panels off as long as possible. I’m not sure where to put the wings and bonnet over Xmas I’ve got my parents up for the week, not sure they’ll appreciate a spare room full of metalwork!

Is it worth considering a lok n store type facility for the short term - some give cheap initial rates to get you sucked in

Where we live the best you’ll get is a windy barn, which is where my other stuff is stored. You’ve just made me think about the mother-in-laws house though, maybe I’ll take a bottle of sherry round this afternoon!

is lok-n-store Cumbrian rhyming slang for mother-in-law? just wondering why that made you think of her!

We’ll it’s home, guess it better get used to the rain, inevitably it poured all the way back.
Massive Shout out to Irving’s Bodyworks and especially Ty (man with the golden gun) who did the prep and paint. The end result has been worth all the effort.
Onto a new chapter with the resto now, it’s all rebuild and nuts n bolts from here on in.
I’ll stop posting endless green pictures!

Keep them coming. It looks bloody lovely. The swage line is amazing on it.
Thanks a lot, whilst a lot of work went into the lines cos I’ve seen a few where they’ve almost disappeared under layers of paint it’s now the paint that makes them stand out, the flip on the paint really shows up any change in angle on the body.

Happy New Year to all!
Xmas has given an opportunity for a few hours in the garage so I’ve started to on the rebuild.
Front crossmember, rack and enough of the suspension fitted to trial fit the big brake conversion. Looks good but not convinced by the red on the calipers. I’ve just ordered some alu to have a go at making some bumpsteer spacers to counteract the drop of the coilovers. Internally I’ve started on the soundproofing, I’ve heard people say you can put a lot of hours into this, they’re right, it’s really absorbing and just sucks up time. The pics show a days effort on just soundproofing.

You may be able to just relocate the inner TCA mounting point to counteract the bump-steer. The spacers are ok but can cause the trackrod end to be close to the wheel-rim on 14" wheels.

Cheers Rob, I really fancied this mod in preference to bumpsteer spacers, I also like the fact you can adjust camber at the same time, it figures well on the US forums however last time I mentioned on here it was suggested that it may upset the roll centre as the back was not getting mod’d in a similar fashion. Tbh this is at my limit of understanding, I understand the bumpsteer arguments but have not got my head round roll centre stuff. As I’m running 15s or 16s I’ll give the spacer a go, I can always thin it a touch if I run close.

Looks great. Love the colour.

Looks like a day well spent on the soundproofing, you did a real neat job. Which brand of mat did you go with?
