The Datsun 260Z 2+2 model,has alway's been taken for granted
& is often frowned upon as being a lesser equal,in comparision to
it's sister the legendary & magnificient 240Z.
The 240Z is rated as the thouroughbred sport's car & it's
value reflect's this deserved reputation.
The 260Z 2+2, is said to be,& is heavier than it's predecesor
but has it's own characteristic's & qualitie's, & many have sadly
been broken up for spare's & very few survive in contrast to the
240Z.
My love for the 2+2 grow's,& I have liked this varient for over
20 year's,& since day one it has turned head's in admiration,
been remarkably reliable,& has given me immense satisfaction in
return.
I love the car as it is,& would'nt dream of changing any-
thing on the car as it's those very qualitie's that attracted me to
the Datsun Z serie's car's.
2+2's are not seen in number's at show's & meet's & are
inevitably going to gain the respect that they deserve as time
goe's by.
This one is for all, "2+2'' owner's out there...........

There certainly are less 2+2's than people think, & very few that
are road worthy or in good order. Rare bird, in it's original form.
I think the line's,length,& longer wheel base make's it a

"2+2" owner's dedication, is due to absolute media,Club
& general recognition of the 240 & 2 seater's & none
for the 2+2. Meaning I,m blowing a trumpet or French
Horn for the underestimated & taken for granted model,
as, aforementioned.
If you own one,like I do.......great, If you don't then you
don't know what you are missing.
If you don't own a 2+2 260Z circa 1974-78 then get
one whilst you can.
If you respect them,like them but don't want to own

i had a 2+2 and i always thought it made the 2 seaters look stumpy because it had the extra length i think it suited the shape better and made it look more sleeker and the wife always like to sit in the back (she is not very big)as it was more comfortable for her .

Nicely put Moggy , also a few years back when I used to be a freelance guitarist,My Peavey stereo chorus 2x12" guitar amp
used to fit along with long guitar flightcase when you folded-shut
the back seat's very, very handy.

The 2 x 12 stereo chorus Peavey is from memory f***in heavy ! that must have been fun getting in the back ! I have Mesa Boogie and Marshall kit - same problem !

Will try the toes thing but don't expect any joy....... why else do us boys buy flash fast cars eh ?

Personally (a view, not a slate) I prefer the 2 seaters because of the flowing lines around the rear quarters, I find the +2 a little angular in comparison but hey hell I like many things other people do not so I cannot be held up as a paragon of taste

I used to load the amp from the door,straight on to the folded seat no problem's, I tend to look at an overall view on lines,on
car's & the 2+2 had upgrades on the rear suspension(taller)
which changed the look on the rear quarter area.
I respect your preference's along with various other like's
& dislikes but do feel the 2+2 is a proven with time classic.

No question of the 2+2 s classic status - all 240 / 260 variants fall into that category where I am concerned. If we all got a buzz from the same thing can you imagine how dull the forum would be ?

The Datsun 260Z 2+2 has Window's that wind up & down &
One's that push outward's.
I also find that you can use the same air in the tyres that
most other car's use & It's pretty much flexible when it comes to
filling up the radiator with H20.
In reverse the car will move in a backwardly motion & the
Forward gear's (assisted by a steering,Supplied usually with the
2+2 model will allow you to steer it in a number of different tangent's.
The 2+2 also has the advantage of carrying more than
two people but it has been known for carrying just one the
driver.
Smoking is not banned in a 2+2, & the ashtray's are a tad on the small side.
The glove compartment is a bit big for one pair of gloves
so buy atleast 20 pairs otherwise it will look empty.........
