My 2+2 rides a hell of a lot better than my 240 and any 260's that I've been in and is soooo much more refined. Given the right treatment it can be a looker too.:p 14 yrs ago on a tight budget and 2 young kids it was perfect for us and got all of us to many shows and events.

That is why I had one being a family of 4 but you have to admit the roofline is all wrong, it should have slopped down like a 911.
So when it came to the crunch that was the one that had to go.

No I don't think that the roofline on the 2+2 is all wrong. They were both aimed at very different markets and the 2 seater is most definately more overtly the raw sportscar whereas the 2+2 more of a grown up sports tourer.

Quite often I look at the 2 and think that the 2 seater is very truncated and while it looks great it also lacks a little sophistication and look of balance that the 2+2 imparts.

Ofcourse all IMHO.

My 2 seater is sophisticated  the 2+2 is in the same fold as an E Type 2+2 among the (unwaneted)

I can't beleive that a Z is being compared to a 911 ! And then more, unfavorably - the 911 set-up is all wrong !

A 260Z 2+2 is almost the most underestimated Z - sure it's no good for competition compared to it's 2 seater brethen but how many of you compete -the best you get is a track-day like me and there, I swear that a modified 2+2 will eat a lot of two seaters and most of it's younger cousins.

Back to reality and as a fsat road car, please carry on because that means that the won't increase in value and I can buy another one and play with it. What do they have ? :

R200 diff and some heavier duty parts
2.6 engine

It's like the 280ZXs, we love 'em too so we can break 'em, not to save other S30s but improve them !

Making our S30s into what Nissan could have done.

There's nothing 'wrong' with a 2+2 roofline until you put it alongside a 2 seater - then it looks different....odd...because you're expecting something else from the front looking towards the rear - like tasting what you thought was coffee and finding very strong tea.

I don't think it fair to knock them, especially as hard as you have even if I resepct your honesty. No, I wouldn't replace my 2 seater with a 2+2 but I wouldn't be against having a 2+2 as well !

The 2+2 R200 ain't much good for most applications because its 3.5 ratio, I will be honest yet again I had a 2+2 2 years ago it was a very good base to build on 3k of panels fitted !!! then I thought no 2+2 ain't right so sold the whole project for 200 quid after my several contacts had said what the f**k are you thinking about. Since that day my mates have made me stand back & see how ugly the 2+2 really is apart from Jays, Phils (long gone) & bongo's.

so what your really saying is.......... the Zclub is really 2seater club then. iv had both 2seaters and 2+2 in the zx and z i dont race them i like to drive them i like both types, but i must say some ppl do seam like they think the 2+2 should not be in the club or its not a worth while car??? it does give a snotty mesage out to any one looking to join the club and help boost its members and keep it going so you have a place to take your 2seater and play.

Each to their own at the end of there day, honesty is not a bad thing its really good there should be more of it about in this world !!!! everyone I know in the z world dislikes 2+2's & I know alot so speaking for them also.

I thought it came with a 3.7 ?

Anyway, so what parts would you break one for then ? front end panels, engine, gearbox ?

They have a better following here probably because the 2 seater wasn't sold and the cars' were looked upon as a good compromise...........like a 911  and other assorted 2+2s.

The 280ZX was unfavourably compared to the 240 (not a sportscar) but still sold well.

Does sound like The Classic 240Z Register here.........:(

They aint classic r they if they have the 350 in their club,or has money something to do with it,as for the 260z estate,i use to think the same as a lot of the snobs on here, look as grolls car, looks as good as any 2 seater out there, matter of opionion really or taste,

No it wouldn't have - that's a different market, you'd have sold less and how many people with that budget (new car budget) have children of a low age to need to have small bucket seats ?

Nissan don't care about second-hand sales - that's not what drives the conception of a top value sports-car.
Yer dreaming mate !:p

I disagree...I think it would have sold to those people who need the extra space and I know car makers don't care about used sales, but the dealers do, as that's where they make their profit!:p

You really need to be strong and form your own opinions in life and not follow the herd!....Some "mates" you have!

Nothing wrong with the 2+2 in any of the models
Think why a few of the 240 guys don't like them is because they were never made as a 2+2 and they feel left out:lol:

Sometimes the image that we give out is this is a classic car club and it isn't it is a car club as it caters for all models from 69 through to 2009 and sometimes a few seem to forget that and is it any wonder that the 300and 350 guys sometimes don't seem to want to join in on here

This club is for 'All The Cars' and that's how it should be. We all have opinions so lets share them but not get personal.
I think the 260 2+2 looks fine and is a classic car especially when it is on it's own. When you put them next to a 2 seater the beautiful lines of the 2 seater IMO look even better.

Rollocks - people nowadays have several cars and DON'T need two pathetic bucket seats (GTR35 ?).

At least for once, I'm on the correct political side of the fence - vive les 2+2s !

Now't wrong with 280zx 2 seaters, Z32 2 seater or 2+2 & 350's, like them all.

Well I must be the only one who likes the roof lines of a 2+2, which is why I bought one. I would have a 2+2 over a 2 seater any day.
