The only true 'lightweight' bodyshells from early production were the 'PZR' bodies of the PS30-SB Fairlady Z432-R models.

Factory quoted weight for 1972 production UK model 'HS30' ( 'Kerb Weight' = with oil, water and half tank of fuel ) = 1,038kg.
.

Eff me but those were the days when you got more than 500metres worth of petrol in your tank from the showroom !

Er........weren't the shells lighter My Count to allow them to further strengthen elsewhere, effectively recuperating the 'lost' weight ?

More pay ? you get freebie access here anyway..............ok, I'm off-stage !

This is an automated message. Albrecht is on strike for better pay and conditions.

What about your "final salary" pension scheme.

Anyway I will bring you a nice cuppa tea round later. That will improve your working conditions.:D
As for pay??? Well you would have to pay a lot of money elsewhere to get such superb entertainment. You get it all free here.

Anyway just think back to when we started on this forum. Most of us have improved a bit in our knowledge pool
Surely????????

Anyway I have had my cuppa ... Im of to the workshop to scrape more underseal of my American shell (specially designed for large Americans I believe:bow:)

Does it really matter , Who really cares .

Some of you guys really need to get out more ;).

Says he at his computer at 4.30 in the afternoon.:smash:

Fibreglass bonnet, 15"x8" wheels, R180 LSD, Safety device roll cage, one Sparco seat, lexan windows, full rally trim +200 hp !

I think with fibre glass tail gate and doors it will be about 940 kg

Small ones as well because the seat rolls forward some !

Anyway, why aren't you dipping and zinc-plating your shell as per your master ?

Of course it matters. If you don't understand how and why it matters then what are you doing even looking at this thread in the first place?

I think there's a pretty good chance that I already do "get out" a little more than you do. That's why I care about this stuff, and why I - and other people who also understand - take the time to study it.

Well from what I've read since I've been a member it's nothing to shout home about that's for sure Sean!, It's a very dull humorless place full of little clicks and how dare anybody not agree with the in croud .

Am I 'in' or out Rob - I've been banned, moderated, personally attacked by rabid scouse-wives and people, keep saying I'm bald.

I am lighter though and so will become my car so this thread interests me as a comparison and theory exercise.

I did - thankyou for that correction sir.

Not surprising losing time with weight. Looking forward to that but more importanly (for me), gaining a few seconds PER LAP which is an application of more factors............and money :( !

Well for those that are interested i picked the car up today, for them that aint have an hour on youtube, anyway the man was true to his word heres a couple of pics with the mobile phone, will have a clean up on friday and post some more, first impression is that it never had no rust 14 years ago when it arrived but as his ebay pics show the the pass side floor pan is is rusted through taking the box section underneath with it good old english rain, both front chassis rails and air tubes all solid and unwelded, rear arches origional with spot welds visable (after a bit of wire wool treatment) taigate dented but not rusty has a sunroof but he supplied a nice skin allready de-spotted from a doner car

Still won't upload !
