The only true 'lightweight' bodyshells from early production were the 'PZR' bodies of the PS30-SB Fairlady Z432-R models.
Factory quoted weight for 1972 production UK model 'HS30' ( 'Kerb Weight' = with oil, water and half tank of fuel ) = 1,038kg.

Eff me but those were the days when you got more than 500metres worth of petrol in your tank from the showroom !
Er........weren't the shells lighter My Count to allow them to further strengthen elsewhere, effectively recuperating the 'lost' weight ?
