240z Speedo' bulbs/lamps

Hi, in my '73 UK spec 240z, I found a dead bulb in a lamp holder hanging behind the speedo. On contorting to look behind the speedo, at the bottom of the speedo back casing, I see two lamp holder holes. One on the left (as the driver looks at it) is the handbrake/parking brake warning light...has a lamp occupying the hole and works fine.

The hole to the right
(as the driver looks at it), is empty..so I assume the 'loose' lamp should fit in there ?..but I have no idea what that lamp should indicate ...any one know ?...

(I have illumination on the speedo when I turn the lights on...although have no idea where that light is coming from !...)

cheers all

Those two bulbs are both illumination of the speedo. I expect it's a little dim on the side where the bulb isn't plugged in.

For easy identification the illumination bulbs have one wire and 'ground' through the body of the speedo.
