Terry an LD28 (with turbo perhaps) would have been a good fit and an economical cruiser.

Yes Rob but with a price tag £££££££

If your into getting a little more out of these engines and getting them to breath better you could go this route.

Now that wasn't to difficult just a few brackets to move and the heater box intake to install then I'm converted to a RHD shell bit of linishing and i should be ready to shot blast the engine bay

I see the smoke has cleared a little after the lunchtime burnout sessions. All part of the fun of Saturdays at Terry's. Its a bit like Kids Kingdom but with Zeds.

Bunch of hooligans these essex boys, this is what happens when you give Tel a nice old mans Lexus cruiser:

Bit of smoke

Made working in the shop a bit more difficult:

shot blasting in progress used a 120 grit aluminium oxide for a fine finish even blends the Datsun paint in with the bare metal hopefully get the engine bay all sorted and in primer Saturday, may even have a play at being auto electricians on the lexus

Is that right Nick i could even just leave the engine as it is, as well all dusty and corroded as ali does ;)

mind you too late now, with a bit of help from my friends got quite a bit done and a lot of thanks from Tom Zupra who has egged me on to take the lexus apart and spent most of his day getting involved pulling it apart and chasing circuits he seems quite confident  plan is to keep pulling it apart and test drive it in between removal of unwanted circuits and understand how it all works

Good session today, think we could start a toyota v8 swap company, might have to practice putting one in mine first though :D

Really looking forward to hearing it without the 900 different exhaust boxes on, think its going to be special little car. Test fit the engine next weekend I think!
