The petrol tank on my 240Z is leaking again. This is the third time in a couple of years. The other times, I had a it repaired and pressure tested, but I think now I have to bite the bullet and get a replacement as this is becoming too much of a liability. Any thoughts, recommendations, advice or warnings?

Try the z parts suppliers in the US such as Z Car Source. You will get a fully reconditioned tank with some form of guarantee. It will cost you though.
I would avoid eBay as you will likely get the same problems if you actually get one for sale. You might be lucky and someone on here has one for sale that is in reasonable condition but whatever you get make sure you flush it out before you use it& get a good fuel filter.

You could take it out, cut it in two, do the necessary and then weld it back up ... and renew the pipes etc ...

The proalloy one is lovely, but very pricey.
I got my 280z tank reconditioned using what they call a "renu" process, where they seal both inside and out.
IIRC it was about £300.

Hartlepool radiators, but they had a link with a company local to me (Leeds) where they do a milkround style pickup/dropoff. Meant I didn't have to drive too far
