Hi folks,
Finally on the rebuild part of my restoration!!
I'm soon to reassemble the front end and I've been looking at the old bumper parts etc. You can see from the picture below that the car has had some form of spacer between the bumper and the bodywork. I'm guessing this was some sort of american requirement back in 1973. You can see the white metal bar - It also has rubber inserts to go at either side (not featured in this pictures).
I'd prefer not to have to replace the bumpers just yet, so was wondering if anyone has a simple solution that does not involve lots of cutting and welding? I did wonder if cutting off the ends of the bumper supports, may be a viable solution?
Any tips of this issue gratefully received.
