I was going to add the paint chip bit earlier but didn't bother, since it was all getting a bit tetchy. However at the risk of repeating myself I'll repeat myself, what I find most amusing and keeps me posting is the 'batten down the hatches, pull up the drawbridge, full on defensive mode' as soon as couple of minor faults are pointed out.

I refuse to see anything here as 'defensive' - the car was grilled as any other on this forum, certain people said that despite stated 'issues' it was a bargain and obviously the buyer did. Where is the issue ?

Sean, post #41. Last para, second sentence refers...c'mon someone is being modest Or evasive !

Nice to see that you don't have the low-down on everything in the UK then:D

You still seem to be missing the wider point that was being defended. A good car is a good car. A good car at what I think is a great price is an even better thing. Your pot-shots at wrinkly vinyl and the odd paint chip look make it look like you can't - or don't want to - see the bigger picture.

As I've said before, pointing out the big stuff (bent chassis rails, structural rust, parts mis-match and iffy identities etc) I think is fair game and pro bono publico, but paint chips? Really?

My first post pointing out the trans tunnel and console, my second post replying to Sean's'confused emoji' (I took it to mean he didn't know what I was referring to), third post starts,

It looks like a really nice car.
I think I appreciated the wider point.

We'll, I could cut and post various phrases that indicate to me someone on the defensive but it's probably not as simple as that as it's more of a continued dialogue that gave me the impression of a rather defensive attitude.
Since you 'refuse' to see anything defensive it's a moot point anyway.

Why WOULD I defend it ? No motive and I'm not exactly the gentlest of commentators so has been pointed out.

But plenty of people have agreed (hence the continued dialoge) that it was a great car, a bargain - perhaps you mistook my quantifying my opinion as a defence ?

I'm not someone who'll state something and when questionned say 'it's my right to have MY opinion'....and that's it !

No, I'll always say WHY I believe or think so.....anyone can agree or not but at least they'll know why I've chosen 'my side of the fence'

All: The Judean People's Front?
Brian: No, the Romans. Mandy: Who are all those people?
Brian: A few friends, popped by for a second.
Mandy: Popped by? Swarmed by is more like it. There's a multitude out there. Nisus Wettus: Crucifixion?
Mr. Cheeky: Ah, no. Freedom.
Nisus Wettus: What?
Mr. Cheeky: Eh, freedom for me. They said I hadn't done anything, so I can go free and live on an island somewhere.
Nisus Wettus: Oh, oh that´s jolly good well. Off you go then.
Mr. Cheeky: No, I'm only pulling your leg, it's crucifixion really!
Nisus Wettus: [laughing] Oh, I see, very good. Well...
Mr. Cheeky: Yes I know, out the door, one cross each, line on the left. Stan: I want to have babies.

That tunnel trim looks good, pity about the body. Was going to post it up on the other thread but couldn't find it. In all serious, I thought this seller was all about selling refurbed/restored cars rather than, it is what it is, you want to buy it?

The buyer is very happy with his car, bought* with thorough transparency.

*the guy knew that it was a bargain and obviously another who esteems a Zs value above that of many here....surprisingly for an owner's club !

Restoring cars takes time and during that time (if you have enough ;)cars), one or two might be sold to continue the cash-flow - simples !
