Car is described as original but then you list all the things which have been changed! Carbs, seats, it has been resprayed, has those arches as well etc. The engine is the original though?

I was really refering to the interior ,wiring, engine and gearbox which on most cars has been messed around with...... as for the arches and exterior looks far better than a standard car in my opinion and is a selling point for alot of buyers...and I obviously wasnt the only one that thinks that way. Standard cars really dont do it for me in the looks department...even the way they drive is horrible. They need upgraded in many ways to be a good car....get the grinder out! lol

I would agree with you Smudge in some respects that a standard car is not quite the pleasure to drive that a tweaked car is. On the looks front, the zed always looks more sporty with a little height reduction and better wheels. It a case of whether you want the sporty look or not. Personal taste will effect this a lot. I couldn't bring myself to put arch extensions on a good shell but I have no problem with others doing whatever they like to their cars.

This is the thing with the zed's...they appeal to the young and old.....the young tend to modify the old not so much.....its why they are so popular!

To fit the arches you have to chop the original arches out therefore f***ing up the front wings but far worse the rear 1/4's ! its ok on a shed but on a good shell I would say its a real crime ! Never forget Dave Porter doing it to his mint 1969 shell !! he told me it was an extremely hard decision to make at the time.

Really wasnt a hard decision for me.......worse thing was chosing which blade to use!

I am in no way a purist (very far from it) as I have always modified my Z cars to my taste, std Z is ok but a few tweeks here turns them into a very different experience, I would never chop the arches on a mint bodyshell though I just think it is criminal as they are in such short supply now.
Also as my Mrs says they look like a Tonka toy with them huge wheels on them.
