Just wondering what gearbox oil people are using in their S14 S13 gearboxes.
Same as my diff, castrol syntrans 75w90 GL4 for me.
I Use Red Line MT90 75w90 in mine
Ditto. Use Red Line MT 90.
I remember a recommendation from Steve Kiddel and Dave Jarman. Will try to fing the posting. Think it was Red Line?
Redline MT90 here too.
Looks like Redline MT90 it is.
Did I mention I use Castrol?
Yes you did, I just went with the majority.
Just trying to undermine the Redline orthodoxy
Castrol it is then
Same for gearbox and diff? I thought they had different requirements, although this is only going by what I've read and no first hand experience.
I think most confusion centers around the fact that the gearbox should use GL4 spec only, whereas the diff is ok with GL4 or 5.
Or oil that is sometimes branded as GL4+, which is actually GL5 but with an additional additive package that makes it compatible with transmission's needing GL4 i.e it's not supposed to harm yellow metals!
Great info here
Yes. Great info and much appreciated.
