I thought I should try something a bit different with only two races left and just one point from last place! It'll probably backfire though.

Hamilton should consider himself a very lucky boy. Those tactics are fine on the last few corners before the pace car pulls over, but in random places and in those conditions is asking for trouble.

The Vettel/Webber accident was definitely his fault in my opinion.

A very very lucky boy still to be in the championship, driving a car that is not allowed to be part of the manufactors championship

Right or wrong it beggers belief that if a car isn't allowed to take part in a championship how can a driver of that car be allowed to take part in the drivers championship

As for his tatics behind the pace car he is lucky he wasn't deducted points

Still why would the powers that be want to damage thier earnings from the Grand Prix by staining thier newest greatest marketable asset

I think Alonso should have been penalised personally, this season or next !

Money, money, money ! Maybe I'll start watching A1 races just to poke ol' Bernie in the eye !

IMHO any driver using a Mclaren in this years drivers championship should be excluded from that championship if the car they are driving is barred for taking part in the constructors championship (whether that decision was right or wrong dosn't matter)

How does the alledged £50 million ring true when as I believe I read somewhere that part of that £50m was the prize monies that they would recieve for winning the manufacturers championship

This makes a nonesense of the amount of the fine in the first place and what makes it even more stupid is allowing the mclaren to still take part in this seasons F1 so that Lewis will win the championship and then instead of Mercades advitising that
"Mercades/Mclaren wins the F1 manufacturers championship"
they will just alter it slightly to
"Mercades/Mclaren driven by Lewis Hamilton wins the F1 championship"

On reflection it dosn't seem much of a fine to me

Maybe this whole thing should be a separate thread as I can see this discusion will get quite heated

Yep, I'd forgotten about the deduction of the prize money to offset the fine - if they are excluded, then they wouldn't get the prize money in the first place.....!

Problem seems to be Alonso who blabbed in exchange for immunity and blabbed VERY quickly - he dropped the team in it - did McLaren use what he gained on both cars ? They must have incorportaed some of it in both cars' race strategies, particularly at the beginning of the season....

Big big mistake by McLaren and Lewis!

They were trying to win the race instead of the championship. They made a mistake like this before with a shredded front tyre (Hakkinen?).

First bad mistake by Lewis, shame. I understand the pit lane was a lot wetter than the track so caught him out on those bald tyres.

Alonso

Rosberg
Kovalinen

In fact, Hamiltons second mistake - he went before remember and scored nothing !

Inexperience - he's relying upon the team to tell him what to do instead of insisting in coming in earlier for tyres - he's the man who can judge the best the state of his tyres !

He should just do it but it would have been better to have won it during the last race and gone all hell bent for leather in this one for the fun !

Grande Prêmio do Brasil.

Controversy in São Paulo as an irate Fernando Alonso, rejoining the race from his final pit stop, finds himself behind his team mate and World Championship rival Lewis Hamilton after being in front of him from the start. His anger is clear to see in his now aggressive and desperate driving, increasingly locking up under braking and planting two wheels on the grass as he powers down too early out of the corners.
Despite his messy laps, he is gaining on his rival quickley. Hamilton, taking it relatively easy after his error in China, knows finishing ahead of Alonso will guarantee him the title so isn't risking anything.
Coming out of turn thirteen and onto the fastest section of the track, Alonso has Hamilton in is sights but frustratingly knows he isn't quite close enough to make his move this time. As the end of the main straight approaches, he is surprised to feels his car sneak into his enemy's slipstream. He is almost on top of his braking zone, but his car is increasing in speed. It is at that point, through anger and frustration, he decides to move his car to the left and attempt to out brake Hamilton. His car, carrying too much speed into the tight turn one, locks up once more and begins to slide.
Hamilton knows Alonso is to his left, but is concentrating on hitting his own braking zone, and as he slows from two hundred miles per hour down to seventy and starts to turn in, he spots Alonso shooting across his racing line and into his path.
Hamilton is helpless, and has nowhere else to go but into the side of Alonso's car, the momentum carrying both of the McLarens off the track.
Hamilton manages to rejoin the track but his front wing is badly damaged, and he will need to complete almost a full lap before pitting and receiving a replacement. Alonso however, is out. His suspension broken from the impact, his race and the chance of retaining the championship title is over.
The damage to Hamilton's car means he loses a lot of time and places, but safe in the knowledge he is the new world champion, he completes the race in fifth position.

1. Massa
2. Räikkönen
3. Kovalainen
4. Kubica
5. Hamilton
6. Heidfeld
7. Webber
8. Rosberg

Few, that prediction was only supposed to one sentence long! Got a bit carried away there! :D

World championship leader Lewis Hamilton is one of three drivers under investigation by the race stewards at the Brazilian Grand Prix for breaching the wet weather tyre rules.

McLaren's Hamilton, Honda's Jenson Button, and Super Aguri's Takuma Sato were deemed to have used two sets of wet weather tyres during the first free practice session at Interlagos, in breach of the Sporting Regulations.

Article 25.3 of the F1 Sporting Regulations states: "No driver may use more than one set of wet and one set of extreme weather tyres during P1 and P2."

The matter was brought to the race stewards' attention by FIA technical delegate Jo Bauer, and it is not clear at this stage whether or not the drivers involved will face any sanction.

All three drivers have been summoned to see the stewards individually following the end of the second practice session.
