Thank you for all the comments, please look out for photos which i will post asap. Thank you all

If you get a chance, can you try to take a good clear photo of the underside of the glovebox liner (roughly where the passenger's knees would be)? It might sound like a strange request, but the factory often chalked a destination/type code in that position, and - if present - it will often identify an original UK market car as such.

Good clear photos of the engine bay ID tag (on the RH strut tower) and the factory-engraved chassis prefix and body serial number combo (on the firewall sheetmetal, just above the brake booster) are also ones that a prospective purchaser will want to see.

Any documentation (original purchase invoice, servicing bills, original dealer paperwork) would be a bonus too.

Is that door mirror a painted Sebring Mach One? I see it has an aftermarket steering wheel too. The stories behind those, and the wheels (original owner preference?) will also be something that a prospective purchaser might ask about.

Gents,i am amazed at some of the comments but also slightly shocked by others that imply this is something that it isnt.in my opinion the perfect place to offer such a vehicle would be to enthusiasts and anyone who thinks i would waste my time and yours is mistaken. I will hopefully (weather allowing) at the weekend take some quality pictures and post them. All i will say is that any doubters will be silenced. Thank you

Stick with it Michael. You may not find a buyer on here , but you will glean plenty of insight and advice that could maximise the value for you.

Looking forward to the pics and a bit of backstory.

Rob,Appreciate your comments and agree with the request for quality pictures, the reason car was not used is due totally to being in dry storage and weather,i am awaiting a dry spell and will prepare the car for sale with a good detail, this has been owned since 1973 and has not attended meets or events,it is a totally genuine vehicle which will speak for itself. Thank You

Thanks Michael, I may come across as sceptical but all I'm doing is asking questions (bluntly sorry).

I'm trying to understand it's history because you are giving snippets which lead to more questions. It looks like a '71 car and has been dry stored since '72. Do you mean it was laid-up in '72 or just kept in a dry garage? You say it's been owned since '73 so I assume that was a relation because according to your profile you are 60 so would have been 13 in '73.

I said I can't take it seriously yet not because I think it's a scam or anything but you said you would only entertain serious enquiries. At this stage I can't take it seriously because there isn't enough info or detail.

I asked about Club meetings, membership and 'why wasn't it used' to try and build a picture of ownership. I wasn't suggesting that you should have been a member but that if it had been at meetings we might have pics or someone may remember it.

The more you can tell us and supply pics/info the more interest there will be for a £40k asking price.

This is not a scam:banghead:

I have seen this car in passing.

Michael I would be willing to assist you should you want any pictures taken etc assuming you are somewhere in NW London. And it would give me the opportunity to drool at the car too as I have seen it a few times since around Harrow.

Lots of good positive input on here on re ID tags etc and how best to present it to maximise its worth.

Thanks

Shame all the cleaning, detailing hadn’t been done and then decent pics taken, in the first post ;)

Looking forward to them. Someone bought a 260 earlier in the year I think that was in pretty original condition ... so will be interesting to compare the two ...

No. Actually he found a buyer, without delay.

Don't let it get in the way of your theory though.

Hope the new owner is happy with it and it wasn’t a theory just a fact ( probably ) had a genuine interest in that one but some of the comments came over the wrong way ,now that’s not a theory
I had a sniff at the Zed advertised over in OZ the other week but starting bids were expected th start at 100,000 dollars, anyone else see that one

In a lot respects I kind of have to agree with Paul on this one. With the sceptical response he received he would hardly say yes Ill keep those lovely chaps on the Z Club Forum informed of whats happened to the car. Plus it would be unlikely to recommend to the new owner, yes go see these welcoming chaps at the Z Club.

Just my theory obviously.

Just saying it how it is but some on here can’t hack it but the majority have a sense of humour and can take criticism, bet your all wondering where that car went and how much it went for

And yet - for all the 'bad forum, naughty forum' talk - it was viewed and bought by a forum member.

Not a club member then, for wot it’s worth, hope he enjoys

I don't know whether he's a current club member or not. Do you?

Is it relevant? The seller - 'MichaelR' - popped up on the forum, as a forum member, with an ad here in the 'Cars For Sale' section of the forum. The car was viewed, and bought, by a forum member.

I think MichaelR received a fairly warm welcome, and was given some good advice along with a light smattering of - perfectly reasonable - questioning. If you think that was harsh, I'd have to wonder what other forums you frequent. I can assure you he'd get a far rockier ride elsewhere.

Look back on the thread. Wasn't exactly The Spanish Inquisition, was it?

If you know all this Albrecht, please message them on the forum’s behalf and ask them to start a thread on the car and post some pics, as I am sure we’d all be interested in seeing it.
