Hi Does anyone know what size the original Wolfrace wheels were that were offered as an option on the 1970 240Z ? I think they were 14 by 6J but some people tell me they were 7J ?
Thanks

Good question. Were these offered as as "dealer option" by Nissan UK.

If they were dealer or owner fit was it typically 14 by6J's fitted or 14 by 7J's ?
I have an original 1970 car and I want to get some Wolfrace wheels but want them to be as original as poss.

Not keen on putting modern alloys on the car and not really keen on the original steel wheels with hubs although I have them.

Is your 1970 car a RHD UK supplied example?

If you have an original 240Z why fit aftermarket wheels? Put the steels back on. Sorted!

Franky - looking at your car it's a shame you didn't just fix it for an MoT and drive it.

Yes I could just use the steel wheels but I like the look of the Wolfrace slot mags !
I thought I would keep the steels with their hub caps and use the alloys mostly.

Did Australian dealers fit these wheels as an option in 1970? I guess the wider question is do want to retain its Aussie(ness) not that there is such a word or making it UK supplied period correct suffices?

It's quite unique to the Z I think.

If you bought an 'original' Lotus Cortina, Twin Cam Escort, Cooper S etc you would do your best to have 'original' steel wheels on it. With the Z they are the first thing to go.

Yep, I'm confused about the word 'original' as these were only ever after-market wheels and I think you need to get on an AusZ site and find out what was typically fitted there and then.

Also, would be to much to ask that (especially) as a member you present yourself and your car before the questions and help sourcing ? Please.

I remember the Z's here commonly had the Wolfies and they looked great

Another good looking period wheel also made by Wolfrace were the Turbo Vec

I would be cautious about buying 40 yr old alloys, you could end up with a wheel failure, don't know if Wolfies are prone to this, but others have been know to fail when subject to spirited driving
