As the title suggests, the engine has been rebuilt and a pair of brand new HS6 carbs with SM needles installed.
Its really hard to start, to the point where if i didn't know it actually ran i would probably give up. Choke doesn't seam to help this. Once running its ok, hot starts without...
Spent another hour or two with paint stripper removing the last of the worst of it. That'll do, got the freeze plugs out so next up is some inspection by an expert, some serious cleaning, some bore honing (I hope that's all it needs) more cleaning, then painting.
All organised and ready for some sort of polishing or cleaning. Going to get the crank mic'd up and go from there. Bearing shells looked like it should be spot on, but I'm a beginner to all this so who knows.
