Pair of Unused Moustache Bar Insulators

Pair of Nissan/Datsun 240z, 260z, or 280z (S30/S31) moustache bar mounting insulators (part 55476-N4300). I think these are genuine Nissan, because the rubber bush insert has "N4300" moulded into it, which are the last few digits of the part number. However, they do not come in their factory...

Is the 260Z steering wheel special wood as well as the 240Z wheel?

The 260Z steering wheel grip is hard rubber, which is different from the simulated wood on a 240Z wheel. Frost seem to have a repair kit for this: https://www.frost.co.uk/eastwood-master-steering-wheel-repair-kit-standard.html

280z from 1977: startup and idle problem

Chris, With the 280Z engine, which is fuel injected, try posting up the problem on the US Classic Z car website: http://www.classiczcars.com/ They will be more familiar with any issues associated with the 280Z, which wasn't officially sold in Europe.

new member since May and now proud owner of a 1977 280z from Phoenix Arizona

I am not that familiar with the 280Z, but that may be a "ZZZapZ" model. It does seem to have the racing style door mirrors and, as I understand it, they were all finished in bright yellow paintwork (code 411)...

Are you missing a panel ?

The shield is standard on a 260Z too. I was told it is designed to protect the rubber fuel lines from getting damaged, perhaps pierced, by debris which could be thrown up from the road by the RH rear wheel.

hand brake cable missing clip ?

Yes, there is a spring clip missing. There are 4No. altogether to secure the handbrake cable in place. Part number is 36406-P0100 (07/73 on), although it now seems to be superseded to 36406-09E00. The part is not illustrated on the R-Drive fiche, only listed in the text (part No. 30).

    Brake Pads and Bearing Grease

Front Caliper It seems that there are differences in the original caliper assembly and the repair kit you have, but parts often do superseded through time. Attached is a scan of the R-Drive fiche, which shows the exploded view of a stock caliper. This appears to have two springs incorporated...

    Brake Pads and Bearing Grease

Caliper Assemblies Here is an image of an original brake caliper. The slide pins were held in by spring clips, as you can see. However, on the assembly you have, the hole appears to be open, with no clip installed. I can't see, on your rebuilt units, what is holding the sliding pins in place.

    throttle rod mounting bracket

Throttle Linkage Bracket Hopefully this helps. Here is a picture of 1978 coupe bracket, but it should be the same as on a 2+2. It does appear to be different from the one you have illustrated. There are three different part numbers for this as follows (also see scan of fiche - part #14)...

    What's this?

    Thanks for the information.

    What's this?

Thanks for advising on that. I had worked out what some of the relays did, through my parts fiche, but other electrical assemblies remain elusive.

    What's this?

Here is the relevant section of the R-Drive fiche, with the part highlighted. The part covers various years, but has the same function through that period. The only "dimmer" I can think of in an S30 is the variable rheostat for the instrument panel lights. I suppose the easiest thing to do...

    What's this?

My fiche indicates part number 25230-N3400 is an "Assy - Relay Passing & Dimmer", but not sure how helpful that is!

    260z kick/fuse panel

I'm not sure what the differences are between those two parts, unfortunately. There is an earlier part number for the 260Z, too, which runs from 08/73 to 08/74. This is part number 66911-N3400. US cars of the same vintage have the same part number for the right hand side, so in order to...

    260z kick/fuse panel

RH KIck Panel Trim Here are some images of the RH kick panel trim in position on my 10/77 260Z, if that helps (fuse box cover has previously been set aside). The part number for the panel (from 8/76 on) is 66911-N4600. This is the same as the US 280Z of the same era. Also, the earlier part...

    Headlight buckets

Thanks, Sean, With the captive nut integral to the late 280Z headlight cowl assemblies, this creates a gap between the headlight cowl and lower quarter panel, which is evidently not right. I think the non-US cowls must simply have holes provided, not captive nuts, but I am not sure how...

    Headlight buckets

Headlamp Cowls Resurrecting an old thread, whilst searching for some headlamp cowl information, the unit in the first image is for a 280Z, 76/08 onwards. The LH part number is 63116-N4700 and the RH (illustrated in the first post) is 63115-N4700. I am trying to find an image of part number...
