Probably will be the case. Can only guess the fire brigade would have added their block cooling mod. For sure it doesn't want to turn over still so guess it will be crank out next. Tap the pistons down n try clean the bores/hone before the pistons will come back up

My latest Fad lol Got me a cheapy V8 engine from a burnt out 1987/88 Firebird Know nothing about yank V8 engines but what I gather its a 5.7ltr crate motor ? Started to pull it apart but its deffo been sat a while with water in the bores Engine doesn't look that old but getting it to turn over...

Can't see that you have but might be an idea to rubber mount that fuel pump on a couple of rubber cotton reels between the mount plate

Cleaned the fuel pump up also which was jammed but now works which could be a result if it lasts Just hope it doesn't go all rusty next week lol

I may have this wrong but is muriatic acid / brick acid one and the same ? That was was my next thought to rinse the tank out with (brick acid) as is cheap to buy as that ? 20ltr = £23 ? Adding straight water to rinse will just add rust stains again ??

I did think about oil but adding diesel afterwards sounds much better Cheers for the idea

Well I've gone the diy route as I didn't like the £350/£400 + vat quote + the month plus wait to have it cut n shut So far so good for not a lot of money .... £45ish Just need to find what to use on the clean.. ish metal to stop it rusting straight away. I see muratic acid mentioned but not...
