Best way to refurb sump pan?

Admiring your tenacity with this @Robotsan ! When I got my first Z I had no idea about cars save for the odd oil change. Terrified of what could go wrong, removing the fuel tank took me 2 days at first, which would now only take me 30 mins or so! You'll learn a lot from the experience and end...

Another Zed to scratch that itch

My 2nd project currently has bc's installed but the towers have not been cut at the top, looking nearly identical to Yellowz's 2nd picture - mainly because I haven't gotten round to it yet. I can't see any mechanical reason why it wouldn't run ok like that, save for adjusting the camber being a...

    Banshee's Road to Roadworthiness

Waxoyl is an option though I understand there are better products available. @richiep made a good post about waxoyl alternatives here which stuck in my memory: https://zclub.net/community/index.php?threads/rust-prevention-on-interior-panels.29128/post-337350 Personally I have just purchased...

    Banshee's Road to Roadworthiness

I would be tempted to add cavity painting/waxing to your list if you haven't already. Our weather isn't kind at the best of times so it helps with longevity of the chassis. The headlight relay upgrade is a game changer I used this guide which you might have seen already...

    260Z lower front valance/lip

On the one hand I enjoy the breadth of projects (thinking about Jakub Nurzaj's turbo L series monster, and some of the cool restorations Romas has whipped up), and some of the innovative modern solutions for historic problems (such as VW heater valve replacement, and some of the seal...

What did you do to your Z this week?

Haven't driven the car since our wedding in August so thought I'd run it down to the Motorist tomorrow. Gave it a wash just before it rained and sorted a gearstick boot issue out which would cause it to pop out of first gear. Took her down the road and it's much better now!

    MZR for sale.

From what I recall when I lived there, HK tax on car imports was 100% of the value, so that might factor into it. That said, if you're paying that sort of money for a hobby car, you possibly don't care too much about the price.

Sorry if this is not allowed....garage door advice

I have 2 (old) sectional garage doors. One's powered by a Chamberlain liftmaster which goes forever, save for a little plastic cog that strips itself over time (£5 replacement - which I've only needed to do once in the last ~20 years). The other is powered by a Lift King motor which cost me...

280zx find and first wash on YouTube

I've heard some less than good reviews about these guys from one of the MX-5 Facebook groups. Admittedly the content they push out seems to be interesting to watch but I wouldn't be sending my car to them any time soon.

Planning Euro trip - suggestions please...

I think @Woody928 might have some knowledge in this area - most of us are jealous of his Z travels (at least I am)!

Video on Fairlady Z meet up in Japan

There's probably also an element of the YouTube culture. We're all, to some extent, Z fanatics here. To the average car enthusiast, are you looking for the "small z meet" vids or the "super mega JDM event" vids? I'm just appreciative that our cars are getting a place in the limelight. But...

Also interested if doing a run, though if someone could provide dims that would be helpful please, as I've had to shorten the centre console recess to accomodate my cd009

Video on Fairlady Z meet up in Japan

Gets those sweet clicks though, right? Always nice to see these meets. Always special! At the Motorist in Sherburn, West Yorkshire back in June where are a few of us attended, our little crew drew in a big crowd, and even the Porsche boys (who were actually listed as the main "club day") were...

Best place to sell a z

I can confirm that they don't. I was invited to show my car on their spin off series but there was no compensation offered. It became too much hassle to organise so I never bothered featuring in the end.

Best place to sell a z

Good summary, thank you! Marketplace has its uses but I'm not sure I could be bothered selling a car on there. So many lowballers and time wasters, but worst of all are the people that arrange to purchase and then just don't turn up.

I can vouch for the quality of Jason's work (as I'm sure many other members can) Really impressed with the hatch hinge seals I received a few weeks ago!
