    Gearbox and differential oil??

Hi everyone, I'm just in the process of reattaching the refurbished transmission and diff on the 240Z and need a bit of advice regards the type of oil I should use. Looking at the manual it suggests Castrol Hypoy for the Gearbox and Castrol Hypoy B for the diff, but of course these are not...

    Missing Bolt

Hi Phil, Thanks for the information, you're a star. From what I can see on your drawing, length of thread is 20mm. The hole inside the bolt is 12mm and is 13 mm deep. Could you take a look at the sketch and confirm the dimensions? Length of thread from inside shoulder of bolt head and the...

    Missing Bolt

Hi, everyone. I've encountered a problem that hopefully someone out there can help sort it out. Long story short, I’m in the last phases of a 1973 240Z five speed manual rebuild. While fitting new bearings and seals to the Differential and gearbox I sent the various bolts away to be re-plated...

    Racing Custom Parts

Thanks for the information Jon. Sent email to Trigger Wheels, so will wait to hear from them in due course. Where did you source the Zetec VR sensor from? Any chance you could let me have the part number? Cheers Rob

    Racing Custom Parts

Apologies Jon, got lots of bits to source for the car and I got this a little muddled. (its my age I think, but don't want to go there) That's one of the things that put me off about the Racing Custom Parts kit, because the wheel looked to have no antivibration on it. I see that you have you...

    Racing Custom Parts

Thanks for the information. Would you recommend it? I'm shopping around at the moment. Sadly I have the single pulley not the double. But may be worth checking out. Unfortunately the link you gave isn't working.

    Racing Custom Parts

Hi Jon, Yes, that's them. Haven't heard of them or know anyone who has dealt with them so thought I'd ask the question. They sent a reply saying there would be a six week turn round from order. I'm a little away from needing it yet as I have to get all the suspension, wheels, brakes, etc back on...

    Racing Custom Parts

Hi, Just the process of obtaining a cam pulley timing wheel and sensor for the Z. From my search, there seems to be only one that specifically says that there kit will fit straight on to the Datsun L series (L24 L26 L28). Has anyone dealt with Racing Custom Parts guys before?

    Cam sensor

Thanks for the information guys, I'll have to checkout the various options and decide the route to take from here.

    Cam sensor

Thanks for input guys. the reason I ask is, the guy who will be mapping the engine asked if one was available. If nothing else this resto project has at least confirmed that I'm definitely not of the digital age. I'm sure he can set it up without, its just he's obviously into getting every...

    Cam sensor

Hi, since making the decision to go with throttle bodies over the OE carbs its been a bit of a minefield. Long story short, does anyone know if a cam sensor is available for the L24? Any advise or information would be a great help. Cheers

    Reproduction door cards

Yes, bought a set a while back, not fitted yet but checked against the originals they are probably better quality. The inner card is now a fibber board not the compressed card OEM type, which was subject to easily deform and tear and of course any damp that might find its way there. They are...

    Seatbelts

Hi Kieron, good post on seat belts, and I'm glad I caught it as I'm going to be upgrading my original lap belts. Did you have any issues fitting these to the car on their original mounting points?

    Throttle bodies

Going the same route. Bought Jenvey ITB's two years ago but not fitted them yet. If nothing else, they do look way better than the original carbs.
