    LS1 240Z on eBay

Hello - I wondered when this would pop up here! This one is mine - Glad the advert is going down so well, it’s had a crazy amount of views within such a short amount of time & I’ve never had so many people randomly message through eBay just to be complimentary and ‘if I had 30 grand’ plus no...

Front suspension - Inner Tie Rod Poor Geo (Pic)

Good point - They are standard but the more I think about it, it could have had an impact on that side and bent things. I’ll compare how it sits with the other side tomorrow. And it’s LS-swapped so alternator is on the near side! Sounds like I aught to add that to my reading list - Cheers.

Front suspension - Inner Tie Rod Poor Geo (Pic)

Trying to improve upon my 240’s steering, especially over bumpy surfaces. Apex front arms, lowered on BC’s, roll centre spacers. But now the geometry of both the inner rod & outer tie rod is incorrect in relation to the lower arm? Am I correct in thinking the inner tie rod should never angle...

To diff or not to diff.

LS1, T56, 3.54 long nose R200. It’s perfect, drives like a normal factory car, probably because it’s almost the same as the Corvette / Camaro ratio the drivetrain came out of. Normal first gear, but 1500rpm at ~70mph in the long 6th.

    16" wheels - tyre choices?

Any car nerd worth their salt should recognise that treat pattern. AD08R.

To diff or not to diff.

R200 long nose is more than strong enough and won’t ever really be the weak link in the driveline. I’ve got one in my LS swapped 240Z, 3.54 ratio - good choice of helical / plate diffs etc.

    16" wheels - tyre choices?

    225/50/16 on an 8J et0 wheel. They’re great.

    %&#@ing diff filler plug!

Had this earlier this week, it was completely mashed. Had to drop the diff, smash a socket on it and use the impact gun - Then reshape it with a file.

    Run without heater and blower?

Yeah looks good, in retrospect that’s the one I probably should have gone for as the blower is much more powerful. I don’t know what engine you’re using, but on my LS the water needs to be constantly flowing, you can’t just block the flow to the core to turn heat on/off, so you may need some...

    Run without heater and blower?

Yes, although there’s a slightly different variant where the two bottom outlets are adjustable vents that you can just direct to where you want in the footwell (or have them closed to increase flow to the top outlets). Those two top outlets I’ve got going to the windscreen. I’ve also given it...

    Run without heater and blower?

Did the same for a brief time on my LS 240Z but had constant issues with the windscreen fogging up. Got a mini ‘race heater’ from T7 design, it’s tiny and perfect for what I need. Well recommended.

    Offset frustrations

16x8 ET0 & 225/50/16 on mine which to me seems right on the limit to what you can run on stock arches without any negatives.
