    Big brakes and rear disc

Willwoods most likely, easily available and a lot of folk talk of their lightness/unsprung weight (to go with their "heavy" aluminium wheels), but there are more older in-keeping mods that less people favour but work equally well. Rear brakes less so, its not really needed, a good drum set up...

Triple Weber DCOE 40 Emulsion tube quest.

Hopefully the engine runs fine on 45's, maybe too large a carb unless the engine has sporting type engine mods. Maybe running smaller chokes. The Hamill book in theory pointed to 45's with a 3.2l on my set-up, just. Off the top of head there is a volume per cylinder to carb throat and rpm...

Hitachi SU carbs - the David Vizard modifications

Nice. Be careful knife edging the butterfly not to take any material off the radius, how the butterfly closes/at idle makes for smooth running. For reference, rebuilding so Mikuni's, one had a slight nick out of 1, I changed it. All the screws on the Mikuni are inset (the head) and not proud...

How to use and decode Nissan part numbers for hardware (fasteners, etc.)

As I said. Using the link, most fastners on the S30 are going to be M4-M12, and most of those sizes are course. Some are fine, but the statement almost all fine doesn't fit.

How to use and decode Nissan part numbers for hardware (fasteners, etc.)

No. On the S30 its a mixture, partly where the bolt/nut/threaded screw goes on the car leads you. A bolt on the suspension is likely to be a 1.5 or 1.75 pitch, whilst a bolt holding a inner wing on is probbaly a M6 x1.0. Probbaly on the carbs even finer threads, say 0.75. Courser threads...

    Fitting SUs Back

Chrasher, I used to run triple 40 DCOE's on a standard engine, there is no reason why they won't work as Alan says. Rob Gaskin has just sold a good book, how to restore/tune Webers/ Dellorotos, a great book, I rebuilt my 48's using that. Digest the book so you know what everything does, even...

    JDM Foot rest grip

If you want one drop me a line, I have very few left and don't fancy another print run with all the cost and no sales.

    JDM Foot rest grip

Thats right. I designed these matching the original measurements as close as I could, then had them set out to be printed in halfs so they could add them to the footrest. The image in Ped's first post is them printed on a sketletal form. There is a part number for the footrest grip, but that is...

    260Z Project - 260Z GT-R

Yes, main focus is restoring the first generation Silvia (focusing on finding and restoring parts mainly), going to be a high standard, look standard but have sutble mods, some period, some not but will be inkeeping as best I can. Everything needs restored, including the glass...

    260Z Project - 260Z GT-R

By the looks of it, it already is ?! Attention to the detail is for me, always a good way to go, can be a faff/time/money, but it does look better. Keep up the good work.

    “Restomod” S30s - who’s got / built one?

No, its more the good solid UK cars are worth the money and are not 2 or 3 times the price, its the rusty, badly "restored", quick profiteers who want more than their car is worth. I could go on with examples, but rightly the moderators would step in......

    “Restomod” S30s - who’s got / built one?

A lot of talk pointing to UK RHD S30's being rusty, true, some are, but there is a large percentage that have gone through that phase and been retstored (or even some with no welding/panel/bodywork at all)....LHD do rust as well. Just because its LHD doesn't mean the body isn't hiding a load of...

Has anyone got pics of large valves installed?

Like I said, ideally valve size goes with seat size. There are pictures of siamized (spelling) valve seats in the how to performance biuld your L gata, showing this, larger valve seats, where the valve seats merge together, with no aluminium between them (as per stock). If not, the larger valve...

Has anyone got pics of large valves installed?

So, is the valve seat stock then, and sitting with larger valves? I thought larger valves need larger seats, as the valve then isn't the restricting factor..?

    280z clutch

Off the top of my head, that is about it. There are great drag racing flywheels, that look cool, but for anything other than that, it could be difficult to live with. Even a stock flywheel properly machined down a little makes a difference. I think my aluminium flywheel is a little lighter than...

    280z clutch

Both 240 and 225mm flywheels fit the L6 motor. Agree with Alik, I am running a Tilton aluminium 225mm flywheel, great, much crisper to drive, but needs a bit more revs for pulling off. But don't go too light....

Has anyone got pics of large valves installed?

Valves are always a little proud. Lapping is only for getting them to sit nicely, and won't take a lot of the seat away. Maybe an idea to measure installed height of the stem, so when the rocker assembly is added, the lash pads are nearer to the same thickness. I had a head done with new...

    shock absorber insert options

Bilstein for rear can be done, I have pair revalved (new) from another model sitting to go in. I had them done in the US by a Bilstein specialist, who rebuilt my front pair (P30'S) as well. Don't forget, the old Bilsteins P30's for the S30 can be rebuilt, and probably the better option as...
