    New member saying Hi

well that's a bit different to the old Evo4 (& corolla's) you used to blat around in....just needs an r32 gt-r bonnet probably no-where near as quick as the e4 either... & if I remember correctly, didn't it run a sub 4-second 0-60 at some show/meeting a few years ago ? enjoy the drifting...

    Zippy 126

I owned a 126 back in 1989, although somewhat modified... started out running a 2.0litre Lancia twin-cam mid-mounted with Range-Rover gear/transfer box fitted backwards to enable 4-wheel drive utilising BMW diffs The shift pattern was completely opposite, so 1st was where 5th would normally be...

    Porsche engine

yes.....but only running low boost + it's the torque that counts - how else could a heavy pick-up out-sprint pretty much anything ....even in the wet? including the usual supercars, evos, scoobs etc .... note: some of these 'Syclone' trucks are running 10-second quarters in the US...

    Porsche engine

problem with the engines mentioned...jag, bmw, porsche is the weight of them ...reckon it would upset the balance somewhat apart from the sbc Chevy already mentioned... i'd favour a TVR griffith engine with fuel injection - good for 320bhp another american alternative is the GMC 4.3 v6...

    Nissan Silvia 1.8ZX turbo -250bhp!!

yes...thanks Zedhead very interesting I shall use that for future runs/calculations etc cheers & SKiddell you're correct rolling road runs do vary across companies/the country personally, I don't favour them as the airflow fans that are often used do not allow sufficient cooling of...

    240 z Samuri conversions

is/was this the red one that was being sold on e-bay recently ? if so ...i e-mailed the seller with a number of questions relating to Samuri spec-d cars ...got no response was slightly suspicious as he/she'd spelt Samuri incorrectly....and if you have one, the least you would know is the...

    Nissan Silvia 1.8ZX turbo -250bhp!!

agree...& disagree problem with this forum is that there is very little traffic at present ....many times that I've logged on..looks as if there's no-one here or that have been on recently Splitting it up into non-Z ads, won't generate any more hits or attract more users... if you go to...

    Nissan Silvia 1.8ZX turbo -250bhp!!

curious...but why ? fyi: the car was rolling roaded at 310.6 bhp; weight was approx 1100 kg

    Nissan Silvia 1.8ZX turbo -250bhp!!

entertaining: that's good ....better than being dull ! am assuming your compliment extends to both 'speedfreak' and myself ? ;) :D power: unlikely.... base power for s12 Silvia 1.8 turbo is 120-135bhp at the flywheel (depending on whether it has smog equipment) ....so approx 90-100bhp...

    Nissan Silvia 1.8ZX turbo -250bhp!!

true enough... but to put into perspective my total spend was £6,500 including car...best time = 12.9 ND's was £70,000+ ..best time(to date) = 10.7 as I said...IMHO, 2 seconds difference is not worth the extra £63,500+ bttt for speedfreak

    Nissan Silvia 1.8ZX turbo -250bhp!!

no ...you're not on trial...but your car is ... I was a genuinely interested party...& was only asking for some ideas of how you achieved the power figures that you quoted, as anyone would....it's part of the buying process ? but you seemed to have taken it all personally.... - shame...as...

    Nissan Silvia 1.8ZX turbo -250bhp!!

some points from the above: 1. I wasn't doubting anything that you'd written in your spec.... just was puzzled...as i'm not totally 100% on the early silvias 2.It would appear that you've taken my questionning as a reason to be somewhat condascending and give me an explanation which is...

    Nissan Silvia 1.8ZX turbo -250bhp!!

I know they didn't have one as standard & how exactly will it make one 'hell of a difference,' As seen in the spec, with other mods, a difference of up to (guesstimate) 150 bhp or more over standard bhp figures ? ...all you're doing is cooling the air for running additional boost...

    Nissan Silvia 1.8ZX turbo -250bhp!!

thanks for the info... but bit puzzled on a few things...can you shed some light ? standard bhp for these is 135 or thereabouts you've quoted a guesstimate 250bhp atw which would equate to approx 290+ at the flywheel how have you managed to get the extra say...150bhp running between 0.7...
