Thanks Jon - Distributor is electronic. Timing (vacuum hose off carb) - was 42 degrees at 2500 RPM. Very Occasionally would lose spark 1 when testing. Car would not cut out at 3000 RPM when standing still, only when driving under load. I'll run some tests on alternator perhaps.

I'm about to flush the cooling system and put in new coolant. Two questions; 1) The thermostat has a small popet on the top flat disc - is there a special way the thermostat needs to oriented? What does the popet actually do? 2) The engine block coolant drain plug - not sure which plug this is...

Hi, How does the air filter box 'flow door' work? I have a stock orange unit but the door isn't attached to anything to control open/close. I guess it's meant to be closed on cold start up and open up as the engine warms up. Any advice welcome. Thanks Brett

Yes, the previous owner put the door cards in about 5 years ago. I'm not sure where they sourced those. re: front spoiler, It was rock solid at 90mph, haven't tested any higher, so not sure of it's impact to be honest.
