    Prepping the car for paint

Throttleton Is is ok to just get it down to bare metal, put on the 2k primer, sand it, and then apply the filler (epoxy) to smoothen out the rough edges? But maybe then regular poly filler is good enough. Or if the surface is reasonably well, i could just 2k prime it, and use spray filler...

    Prepping the car for paint

Hey all I am in the process of sanding my car down to bare metal. I use 80-grid for this on an excentric machine. I have searched a lot for this, but many have different opinions. What is the best course of action to prepare the car for painting? - bare metal prepping? -2k epoxy...

I must agree with Sean, that rear number plate is ugly... Anyway, I like the fact that the car "will" be driven, and not just put in a garage showroom for years to come... You can always expect potential damage, even when driving on the road to work... We all have have had that "damn..that was...

hey Throttleton thx for the advice. Yes the frame itself seems straight, only that bow at the end. I see some dips of the rail below, Im guessing thats because of potholes. What do you mean ?" Check across the car with a level and see if the chassis rail is level at the top of the rail (not...

Thats very interesting Zeddhead ! Do you have the original shock towers & standard struts? I am looking to go lower but I want to retain the shock towers & struts (dont want to cut in the springs either). Did you get the most right ones machined ? Interesting thread Hendrik

Skiddell, Thats a good call there. Ill make some plates in the mean time in the size you describe, and hopefully that will balance the load a bit.

overtorqued front sway bar securing nuts

Morbias Indeed, it´s a bit strange why such huge bolts are needed to keep the ARB on the chassis. anyway, when I redo the rails, I´ll keep your idea in mind ! :)
