    Paint shop recommendations?

Hi all, after some recommendations of a garage that could prep & spray my 240Z. All the better if they have experience with an S30. I will be approaching the likes of Fourways Engineering, but interested in any other companies that members have used on their P&J. Thanks

    Project "Down under" 240Z - (RB25det)

The front bonnet/doors and hatch were sand blasted sometime ago, revealing lots of small dents..... so plenty more fabricating of metal, filling and blocking ahead. On the drivers door we removed the skin, got to work with the hammer and dollies and made a significant difference to its appearance.

    Project "Down under" 240Z - (RB25det)

All of the underside of the car was stripped back to bare metal, sanded with 80> 240 grit and painted in 2k Upol Epoxy Primer. That is one job that I will never under take again! We lost track of the hours that went into that process. The front frame rails had rust under the reinforcement...

Wow its been a while! Work has been progressing, albeit like most projects, things always seem to take longer than you first imagine. Plus the usual curve balls that get thrown at you in life..... Anyway all of the rotten sills, inner and outer have been cut out and new ones put in their...

    Project "Down under" 240Z - (RB25det)

So over the last week or so we have started,, to look at the sills on the car. I ordered some new 'funky green' inner and outer sills from Klassicfab VintangeJDM, some months ago. Once the paint was stripped and the filler removed, we could see what was beneath. Inside the rear wheel arch and...

    Project "Down under" 240Z - (RB25det)

Most of the engine bay was done with a 115mm diameter wire wheel on an angle grinder. The MBX tool is a great tool, and was used in the engine bay, but is better suited to removing under seal. These polycarbide discs are a worthwhile addition to the tool box, and make light work of most painted...

    Project "Down under" 240Z - (RB25det)

One of the recesses has been cut out, the other side just filled in. The plan was to run without a rear bumper anyway.

    Project "Down under" 240Z - (RB25det)

Rear hatch area all done and prepped with 2k primer. The usual area of the rear of the hatch will need replacing, and I have the panels from APS. This will be one of the first areas that we will tackle first when the MIG welder arrives. The floors aren't too bad, a bit dented in places, only...

    Project "Down under" 240Z - (RB25det)

Its been a while but the body is now stripped back to metal. Just the doors and and bonnet to do. As many of you mentioned, there was plenty hidden beneath the Aussie 'bog' (filler to you and me). So theres plenty of body work to be done, but at least now we can see whats ahead of...
