Hi

I've just purchased a datsun 2+2 260z in Oz! It's the first time I've bought a car of this sort, fell in love straight away....I bought on impulse and I am now unsure of it's value!!..I would be gratefull if someone would give me there opionion on how much this car is worth and if it's worth bringing over from Oz.
It cost me £1800, and will probably cost around £2000 to bring over from Oz...there's no rust, no welding, crack on dash from sun, interior needs little tidy..
Here's the link to some photo's http://uk.msnusers.com/260z

thanks

If the car is as straight, rust free and original as your photos and description suggest then I have to tell you that you will Never find anything like that here for £3800.
Whether its worth shipping is for you to decide.
My personal opinion, since you are looking for opinions is that IF I wanted to own a 2+2 then this would do nicely.

Ok, serious post now.

Have to agree with you Pete, any rust free Zed has to be worth that sort of money.

And let's face it, GOOD 2+2's are getting harder and harder to come by.

Cool name by the way.

I would definately  agree with this and since from the pics the car looks to be in excellent condition i'd say go for it.
2+2's have never been that popular over here but that seems to be changing now.
Having spent rather to much.....and then some!  on restoring a 2+2  i'm a little biased,
but if you do decide to go ahead and import the car you will still have spent considerably less than me!  <img src="http://www.zclub.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/confused.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt='???'>  <img src="http://www.zclub.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/confused.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt='???'>  <img src="http://www.zclub.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':D'>

Which one, I dont know?

If the car is 30yrs old (unlikely for a 2+2), its VAT and import duty free ! So you save 17.5 % + 10% on total costs.

I really would appreciate if you can let me have details of the shipping agents used, costs and other relevant details in respect of getting the daty from Oz. I have been considering this option for some time now and would appreciate your feedback etc.

Good luck

Well done! takes a bit of guts to go through with it all.. I should know!

A rust free Z is a VERY rare thing, so despite what the price guides say in the back of mags, getting one that needs no body restoration is definitely worth it!

now comes the painful wait &nbsp;<img src="http://www.zclub.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=';)'>

will keep you informed how things are going, I'm looking at sharing a container at around £800 if all goes well!....the cars a 74' so I've might wait till after Xmas as it will exclude VAT and duty I think, still looking into it.....another thing to remember is that the Ozy dollar is 2.5 (around) to the pound!!..so you can get some good deals in Oz, plus the steering is the same as Uk!!
